Very kind service consultants and bag carrier assisted with so much care and kindness. Beautiful place with great beach facing views. We got room 615, a best pick by our service consultant at reception. We got to see some damcing monkeys from the top, a view to behold. Beautiful interiors, easy access to casino and Magic company as it is downstairs but sound acoustics are so good once in your room you even forget there is a casino nearby. The inhouse Jeera resturant has a wide and delicious breakfast buffet. The location is very convinient, 10 min from Ushaka Marine amd 15 min from Umhlanga light house.

Was originally hesitant to stay here, but am seriously impressed with my 2 day stay. The hotel is easily accessible and the direct hotel parking makes it an easy staired entrance to the reception.
Check in was quick, was in a room that faced inland. Albeit that the room was compact, it is cleverly designed. Spotless, workspace, great shower, a most comfortable and pleasantly surprising stay.
Breakfast is more than adequate. Will definitely return, thanks to the team!

We had our 12 year anniversary breakaway at the hotel and booked on the Date night special in a standard room. When we got to the hotel, the atmosphere was great with a lot of effort put into the Iron man event coming into the hotel. Super friendly service with some delicious refreshments offered at the door. We got upgraded to a sea facing suite for our 12 year anniversary and received a delicious cake with Happy anniversary written in chocolate sauce on the plate, when entering our room. Dinner was amazing Indian buffet but with more than enough delicious alternatives for those wanting something else. Date night special included an amazing bottle of wine (Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc) and a delicious wide variety breakfast the next morning. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Will definitely return.

This was my only sisters 70th birthday year and in the absence of us travelling overseas we booked a few local activities to make up for that. One of the highlights was an overnight package at SUNCOAST towers Hotel and her favourite overseas band SANAM tickets. Little did we know that this is what we would get. Currently they are advertising their sunscapes at R1045 per night so we were hopeful of a good room. She's 70 I'm 63 we had to walk a good 30 rooms down the passages right to the end as per diagram attached. The fourth floor and the view was the dumpster and back end of the hotel. The room dismally tiny with a sink and see through toilet and shower all in one square....ayyy hostel style or workers quarter style ..never again!!!!!! Sadly management didn't allow an upgrade they cited having no rooms available. I felt bad for only sister who comes a small mining town called Dannhauser in northern natal. I did not expect this kind of hotel accomodation Tsogo Sun. These rooms should be reserved for your gamblers who need a place to crash for a few hours....

Terrible service from all sides including check in where we were R55 a day for parking! TV signal was bad couldn't view TV so to call front desk. No milk replaced in room. Call housekeeping 3 times, no answer.
Called front desk also another 3 times. On second time some young guy says "ya Noone is at housekeeping, qhat you want, I'll organize for you". Requested milk. 10 minutes later, still nothing. Called again! After the 4th time, someone comes to room with NO MILK. the hotel doesn't have milk!!
Terrible service. Buffet selection on fresh fruit limited. One egg station which takes forever.
Don't waste ur money here. It is not appreciated!
No manager co tact details available in sight for guest either !!!

We came here for the Comrades marathon event and despite it being the busiest weekend, our room was quiet. We were very well catered for as vegans, and the chef was happy to produce special hot food for us for breakfast. The best time to go is Friday or Saturday evening when they have an Indian buffet, and nearly half the dishes were vegan.

Will definitely stay again.

I thought I was staying at a 5-star hotel, but it is barely 3-star. Tiny rooms, restaurant option is limited to Indian cuisine, small pool area. This hotel is still stuck in the 60s/70s and needs a major update. Some of the maid staff were unfriendly and rude. You are better off staying in Umhlanga - Oyster Box is a REAL 5 star hotel. I wish I stayed there instead.

Right from check-in it was not a great experience. Reception staff was too slow and not courteous. We had to pay an additional fee per day to park our car in the hotel premises. Only two small lifts in one corner of the hotel to cater to so many rooms. It was quite a walk from the lift to the room. The passage was very narrow and had a weird smell of the carpets. Room was too small and dingy. Felt suffocated.
Breakfast was below average. Very limited choice of food. Most of the food tasted bad.
Overall not at all worth the money paid.

Very pleased with my two night stay.
The hotel is very clean ,my room was spotless ,
Shower was enormous and powerful ,
The staff were all very helpful and polite,
Security guys were the same,
Although I had a city view room that not a problem as it was a good view.
Breakfast was awesome.
My only gripe is internet and not enough you only get 500 mb
And even on this morning as I am leaving I cannot get access to the internet never had that before in any hotel I have stayed in.

Amazing experience at all levels. This sumptuous hotel is a true jewel, perfectly located in Durban beachfront. Very nice garden with swimming pool and a luxury mall with great restaurants and a casino is accessible directly from the hotel. The staff is very friendly, polite, customer-oriented and efficient. I had a beautiful suite with Indian Ocean view. Delicious breakfast. The hotel is a few seconds away from sandy beaches and beach towels are provided. Congratulations! Highly recommended.
