Was not very impressed with the room. Rooms had a musty smell and the floor we stayed on was terribly noisy. The furniture is chipped and rooms could definitely do with a make over. The bed linen was clean and the bed comfortable. Water pressure was terribly low and no area for placing your personal toiletries. Do note the parking for the hotel is on the road opposite to hotel but we didn’t have any issues. However the hotel is a very convenient location to many activities on the beach front. The reception area and lounges are neatly done up.

Poor reservation system and miscommunications among staff for reservation policy when it came to paying in cash. We were told DAY OF to pay a deposit via bank transfer when we were previously told we could pay in cash, otherwise they threatened to cancel our reservation. Should’ve said policy in advance..

Once we were there it was tolerable. The room was nice. Room service was very slow though, took 2 hours…. said they were prioritizing a large order that came after ours and failed to communicate delays... would’ve been sleeping but we were hungry

I had a very nice stay, hospitality was very warm and welcoming, the security guys day shift and night shift were very good and helpful with carrying our heavy luggage day in day out.. I booked the hotel for 2nights for work purposes, the room was very clean, the linen all white, and the towels also white all of them..The security guards really impressed me helping us fetching our luggage in our room at night when we come back the night shift will do the same.. That was a very good hospitality...

We were welcomed by a warm reception when we had to drop of our bags in the morning as we were informed that check- in is only at 15:00. Arriving back at the hotel at 15:00, we were told that we were moved to a different establishment due to the water pressure that was low and that breakfast will also be served "that" side. The other establishment was not even aware that we were going to have breakfast there. We had to go back to the hotel to address the matter. We were not even informed prior of this decision because "they did not have our contact details". What makes it even worse is that the other "establishment" is sub standard to theirs. Management of The Pavillion do not seem genuine in their operations. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Just had the worse experience. Pavilion has always been my go-to hotel when we in durban for years but this was my last.
We were booked in the 'other' side. Worst experience just even walking in the corridor. Passage had dirty dishes. Upon arriving in the room it had dirty tissue, luckily housekeeper was around & her excuse was the mop doesnt reach under bedside table. The 'supposed' balcony was dirty & had birds making noise. Bathroom.... oh my oh my.... why did i enter. It had roaches crawling on the wall. Wardobe was falling.
With my disattisfaction i immediately called reception & asked for a better room, they responded after a hour when i called them again and we were told to add an additional R300. Which we added, the room was ok but the experience was already ruined. We still found a roach which we killed. Shower is old & there little water coming out ming it a struggle to shower properly.

My room had a mouldy smell. Luckily it was for for one night . This hotel is. The rooms and bathroom are old and look horrible. The bed felt like I was on a cardboard box. The owner of the property doesnt give 2 hoots about refurbishing this place. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

Pavillion hotel had a special for valentines dinner. I called and made a reservation and confirmed that there would be vegetarian options as both my wife and myself are vegetarians. A reservation for 730 pm was made.
We arrived at 725 when there was load shedding. We were told that the food would be made at 8 when the electricity came back.
The waiter took our drinks order half an hour later at 8pm then took our meal order about 10 minutes after.
Besides the fact that the least they could've done was Brought in drinks earlier and taken our orders so meal prep can be started at 8 on the dot, they come back to advise that they do not have the ingredients for vegetarian options.
So how do you advertise for it? How do you not have a plan for load shedding ? How do you make the customer wait so long only not to provide a service on valentines day? Absolutely pathetic

The guards at the hotel are very rude. They demand a parking ticket from you as soon as you enter the parking lot. When you dont have one, they get agitated, instead of explaining that you can get one at the front desk. How are you supposed to produce a ticket when you've just arrived and havent even gone to the check in yet!!

They treat guests rudely the minute you arrive.

Have to pay R50 for parking or park on the road.

I Dont reccomend this Hotel.

We got there only to be told our booking is cancelled and they didn’t bother to contact us regarding that, even worse they did not refund us. We honestly don’t want to paint the hotel black with these comments, just give us our money back.
Please refund us our money.

My booking went smooth. Deshni was lovely & friendly. We arrived early & was told our room will be ready at 14:00. We left came back at 14:00. Waited in the reception & was told they only stared cleaning our suite will be ready in a few min. Zuma, the lady who assisted us JUST BLUNTLY IGNORED US. We then we came back & then we were told wait another 20 min. When we returned the reception were chaotic…
