We ended up at a very sub standard establishment whilst on a weekend away with our granddaughter who is almost 4 years old. Trisha from The Grange came to our rescue and offered us a spacious, clean and very comfortable family room. We were so relieved and impressed with what we experienced on arrival. It immediately changed the mood for our short holiday and added to what was to be a very pleasant weekend away.
The staff is friendly, the accommodation is great and the location is close to a variety of shops and restaurants and the beach, we preferred Umdloti, is only a 17 min drive away. There are beaches closer.
Delicious breakfast was served every morning on the patio.
My wife and I highly recommend The Grange and we will definitely be back some time soon.

Thank you for your review. We are so glad we were able to make your stay in Durban a memorable happy time. I agree with you, the Umdloti beaches are certainly worth the short drive up the coast, and tend to be less crowded than our local Durban beaches, especially during these holiday long weekends. We look forward to your next visit to Durban. Take care and stay safe. Regards The Grange Team

I have enjoyed many pleasurable visits to The Grange, and I highly recommend it to business and pleasure traveler alike. The Grange is is a beautiful 'old Durban' property, purposefully and sensitively converted into a modern Bed and Breakfast, offering all the mod cons. Trish and her staff make sure to welcome you on arrival and are always attentive and responsive to your needs as a guest.
... and the breakfast is top class too!

Thank you so much for your review, we do so appreciate it. Indeed we cater for both Tourist and Business guests (Although our Tourist Guests are very few this past year with the Covid restrictions, but we do look forward to welcoming tourists again as boarders re-open). Yes we do try to make our business travel feel as much of a "home from home" experience, in "our" home. Thank you again and take care during these uncertain Covid times.

The house is beautiful and the room I stayed in on the ground floor spacious and comfortable and opening up on to a veranda, and there is a good sized pool at the bottom of the garden. But what really makes this place is the warmth of the welcome from the team who run it, who are all friendly and engaging. I would definitely stay again

0/10.

I recommend this place to all my out of town guests coming for our wedding as they are in the same street as us. One guest had to cancel as she tested positive for covid. Airlines were wonderful changed tickets without a problem. But to date the guest house has refused to refund in full.
I will definitely NOT recommend them again
The way the financial mamage, has handled the situation is appalling!

Very coosy staff. They offered coffee at arrival. Very friendly, clean and a good place to relax. Excellent service at breakfast! I will recommend, and come back! Safe car parking in a carport. Wifi and heating did my visit as I want to come back.

We booked last minute a family room and despite our late arrival we were warmly welcomed.
The room and bathroom are basic but clean. After a long travel we slept extremely well and the area was very quite.

The breakfast in the morning was very nice too.

No dinner is served, but the host gave us very good tips.

Good day. All our Bed and Breakfast rooms in the Main Guest House have air conditioners and safes. Please note that we do also have a self catering unit set just away from the main Guest House, this unit has a safe but no built in air conditioner (there is a portable unit and fans). Kind Regards The Grange Team
