My worst ever experience in a hotel, not to mention its a 4 star hotel, so the price and expectations are high. To my surprise my first hour upon arrival was spent with maintenance coz the room would not light up, so it was dark as i checked in at night time... they move us to a different room where it was worse with the sound of air conditioner and the construction underway... the construction of extending the building means you can't sleep peaceful in the early morning as the is no sound proofing and the window is about 5m to the construction site. Furthermore, the food was honestly just bearable, i can make a better omment than that place and i can barely cook anything. Caostlands Musgrave hotel is a 4 star hotel that has no gym/ fitness centre and at the time no pool ( under constractio) and no professionalism from any of the staff members including management. Management can't offer so much as a smile to guests!! Oh and im still here for another two nights , im sure it'll get worse!

We booked for our honeymoon and all I can say is their service is horrible and unprofessional, they are not interested in their customers feedback neither do they attempt to fix things, we arrived at the hotel dressed in our full wedding attire and there was no one to help us carry our bags at the drop off point, we then went up to reception and all the receptionist asked us for was for payment with no smile to her face.... We got up to a freezing cold room where the aircon was broken and could not be turned off...we then went down for supper and if I say it was horrible it would be an understatement... Not much options they say they halaal but they serve alcohol...after that disappointing supper we was hopeful for a better buffet breakfast... Well all that hope went down the drain when we was presented with a less then appetizing menu we order the poached eggs and some sausages because that was pretty much the best we could get, upon the first bite we got a terrible vinegar taste and yes we know that's how poached eggs are made but they surely should not be swimming in vinegar! This spoilt our whole meal once again... A manager came forth and just offered us another poached egg! After this experience we wasn't going to take out chances, we then asked to see someone who could actually help they then called a director I assume who assured us he would change our experience into a positive one... Well that didn't happen its been just over a month and we haven't heard from him at all... Thanks but no thanks this place is terrible.. Lack of professionalism and no care for customers! Don't waste your money.

We came to stay at this hotel during lockdown because my mother passed away. We wanted something decent and was close to morningside. Yesterday our breakfast arrived in the room. Eggs was raw. Didn’t complain because I had to rush to bury my mother. After the ceremony we rushed back to shower…keeping in mind that Covid is on the rise and people are dying! We get into our room and while in the shower the hot water stops working. We called down to find out that they have planned maintenance and a note should have been put in our room…NO note was found!! I ask to speak to the manager and all he can offer is apologies, no solution. With shampoo in my hair I sat for 45min for the water to come back…5 drops of water came out and it took forever to shower. Finally I called and ask for the General Manager. I am told that he is not available. I insisted to speak to someone. Kuben Moodley the Duty Manager calls back and offers a coffee and a cake to apologize…seriously!! At 3:20am in the morning someone to talking so loudly outside our room and keeps banging a door. I got out of bed and had to tell them that ppl are actually trying to sleep!! Now it’s 4:20am and I can’t sleep!!! This is the service you get in a deluxe room? SHOCKING!!!

Checked in, went up to our room which was unsuitable due to smelling of smoke. A new room was arranged, but unfortunately 1 floor down, so View wasn't as good. Facilities are OK, but room service didn't replenish our water daily. There were a couple of niggles. Water in the sink didn't run out quickly. Handle on the bathroom door was missing. No adaptor plug for the hair dryer, so my wife couldn't use it. One highlight was that my wife ordered the prawn curry for 3 nights in a row as it tasted so good. The hotel is conveniently placed and has great views on the upper floors.
