Had an incredible weekend at Dolphin Point Amanzimtoti. Facilities were clean and service was great. The view was by far the best part though. Close by to Amanzimtoti main beach and Galleria mall. We would definitely return!

My family enjoyed their stay in this "Little Heaven" and can't wait to go back there! Andre` and his dear wife were stunning, and their support staff was great! I am writing a review about this place that I booked on the internet, sight unseen, for my 21 year old son. He is attending university about 40 miles away for the fall semester. After a phone call and a couple of emails, the reservation was made and i felt good about how they responded. My son arrived at Durban airport 8pm local time after flying from California and Andre from Dolphin Point picked him up. My son had a comfortable single with its own bathroom; Andre sent me an email that the young man was safe. In the morning they cooked him a fine breakfast and got him aboard the transportation that was to take him to his final destination.

Though i personally did not stay at Dolphin Point the care, attention, and kindness they showed to me and my son was really something special. The facility was clean, quiet, safe with many amenities. The cost including the airport transfer was the equivalent of $64. It was well worth it for the peace of mind of this mom and my boy left them as friends.

This Guest house was a absolute pleasure to stay at. we stayed for 2 weeks and when time came to go home, we wished we could stay.
The view is beautiful and the rooms are cleaned everyday. there was a little kitchen area and nice big shower and both the rooms had air corn.
Breakfast was very good and the Host Andre was personally there every morning to greet us. He also was very helpful with our planning for activities.
The guesthouse is safe and secure with amble parking and grass play area for the kids.
A lovely swimming pool entertained the kids for the whole stay
We loved our time with this guest house and will recommend them to anyone.

We will definitely return for a visit

"You get what you pay for" really does apply here, dirty, smelly rooms that were in desperate need of attention, accompanied by very unhelpful owners. There are much nicer places within the same budget, in the same area. You have been warned!

The Dolphin Point B&B is ok, although the rooms are smaller then expected.
What I regret the most about this accomodation is the information that they put on their website: "Situated a mere 5km South of Durban International Airport". This international airport is closed since the World Cup, and moved 50 km more to the north. If you book a hotel especially near the airport to catch a flight in the early morning, this is not funny. And moreover, it gets expensive when you have to take a cab after you returned your hired car to this same airport...we paid 1.100 ZAR to take a taxi to the hotel in the evening, and one back the next morning! More than the cost of the room...

When I complained, the owner gave me 200 ZAR reduction, and said that this info about the 5 km was not on his own website, it must have been on another website that I found the description. I just checked, now that we are back at home, and it is still on his own website www.dolphinpoint.co.za... he lied in my face...I still can't believe it.
Fortunately, this was the only bad experience we had in lovely south africa!

Hi,
Hi stayed at Dolphin Point B&B during the FIFA World Cup (2010). The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. They provided soap, shampoo and towels which made packing easier. The breakfast was ideal. Hosts and staff were very accommodating and extremely helpful - arranging transfer from airport and to the city. The best part is the view!!! Vistas of the Indian Ocean from literally every point on the property. Whale watching while enjoying a "traditional English breakfast". The only drawback is the wireless Internet connection, very slow - to the point where I just "unplugged" for my stay (which actually worked out better).

Can not say enough about how wonderful this place is. I have so many happy memories of that week in SA for the WC and a large part of those memories are the time spent at Dolphin Point.

We booked this place at very short notice and were not dissappointed. Nice and clean rooms (a bit old but very comfortable), stunning views and decent parking space. The best part of this place is Andre the host who does everything he can to make your stay very homely and comfortable. Good sumptuous breakfast, nice tips from Andre on attractions in Durban and a great night's sleep. Guess one cannot ask for more. It is bit away from the city center so the place is quite peaceful at night.

Hi Esther It is possible, but depending on what date you want to check-in. Obviously, if the unit is occupied the day before your arrival, it will not be possible. You are however welcome to wait in our lounge area until such time that the unit becomes available.
