Always a pleasure to stay here. Staff are excellent and friendly. Hotel is clean and the breakfast is phenomenal. The grounds are well kept and the pool is great. It is our first and only choice when going to the Vaal.

Well maintained hotel, neat, great service, efficient check in, breakfast buffet excellent and dinner buffet absolutely value for money. Child free hotel and helpful staff.Although not many activities for children, it is near Emerald Casino, where animal world and the game drive is amazing. I would rate this hotel 5 out of 5, but would like to see them implement a heated pool as the pool is really cold.

Breakfast included in stay. A very good selection and tasty. Rooms very neat and tidy. Kids activities available to keep little ones busy. Supper - a good selection Room service - A bit slow when in peak season (Easter break), but food quality very good. Reasonably priced for a breakaway from JHB and not too far to travel Staff very friendly and professional Grounds kept neat Will defnitely visit again

From check in to cleaning personnel, the chef, waiters, bar staff, everyone is friendly and welcoming. The hotel is clean and well maintained. I cannot get over the gorgeous grounds leading to the river. We spent most of the day just lounging under the trees, enjoying the view and peace. Breakfast and dinner were very good.

We were last here 29 years ago. Same great experience, superb food and friendly staff with an excellent room. Couple of improvement suggestions: Room service is far too slow. Chairs in back part of dining room need a recover. Drink signing process is confusing.

This place is well situated along the the vaal dam and close to the casino. Ample parking and lots of places to lounge around along the dam and watch the boats. The rooms are nice and the buffet has got a wide selection of food. There's also a bar with a big screen

Great destination for business trips with modest well appointed room and a great dinning experience. The hotel also offer a boat cruises along the river which has breath taking views and I highly recommend this place. DISCLAIMER :I went to the Riverside Hotel in 2018 but I could not indicate it while making the review.

The hotel is perfectly located by the Vaal river with beautiful views. Facilities great, room comfortable and clean. Food was mostly good. Dinner had a bit of a waiting to get into the dining area as it was full , there was a long wait for food as well. The service from staff wasnt great from the moment we checked in. They insisted on putting my cheque card details on the system depsite having prepaid for my stay. The reception phone took long to be answered whenever we needed assistance. I called for maintenance on the first night because our bathroom and all towels became wet after a shower due to the extractor fan not working , I had to call more than once because nobody showed up some time after the first call. Eventually it was sorted but this was disruptive as we stayed up waiting for maintenance to come fix the fan. After breakfast on the first morning we got to the room to towels and pillowcases missing , housekeeping came in while we were having breakfast and did half the job. On the morning of checkout housekeeping came to clean before we even had breakfast, they opened the door before I could get to it when they knocked. I forgot my bikini top in the room when we left, called the hotel days later only to be told it wasn't handed into the lost items which suggests someone helped themselves to it. The hotel is really great , the service was disappointing though. It appeared to be quite full (assuming fully occupied) so maybe they were overwhelmed. …

Our team stayed in the Riverside for four weeks. Hotel management and staff looked after us very well. Breakfast was good - take the “everything omelette”. Overall we had a comfortable stay and everything we needed was provided, including an after hours conference room.

Situated 75 km from Johannesburg by car The hotel is situated on the banks of the beautiful Vaal river We enjoyed a break away from home Stayed in Room 602 facing the car park Request a river view in advance Complimentary water bottle Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable Staff are friendly We enjoyed a delicious assorted breakfast in time slots for safety protocol We took a stroll on the river bank facing the hotel where fishing is allowed for guests and benches where you can take in the adrenaline of speedboats, jet skis and cruise boats on the river A gym, play area and huge pool for families Free WiFi Safe parking All covid protocols in place
