Unhappy family of 4 We were very disappointed as we booked 2 x1 bedroom chatlets with an extra large double bed from 19th to 21st November,on Booking. Com. We arrived to be shown into shabby twin bed chatlets . Chatlets really need renovations. We were offered an up grade at a further cost of R800 . We wanted to speak to the manager to reduce the cost but he was not available. We were told to pay the extra money or check out. We paid but were given a 1 room unit in a double chatlet n also far apart. Don't think we will stay here after our experience .

Emerald Resort is a lovely place to Getaway from the hustle and bustle of city Life. Besides one bad apple I really had a wonderful time. We stayed in the hotel in February and unfortunately the reception could not guarantee the same room and therefore I chose self-catering. All the new units are in mint condition which made the experience so much better. Also check out the Aquadome.

Overall, I had a great stay. The room bedding was super white and clean in all three days. I enjoyed the breakfast, the lady who helped with eggs was also quite nice. There is also a gentleman who helped one of my colleagues with her luggage, to take it from the reception to the floor up, that was very thoughtful and kind. I also enjoyed the tranquillity at the gym facility.

This is my second visit. The first time, a few years ago I complained about the sick stray cats. This second visit I see the poor cats sleeping in the sun. Surely the management can afford to vaccinate and sterilise them through the SPCA. Some look like they have feline leukaemia. This is heart breaking to see.

This venue is like a mini Sun City. Lots to offer for families with children from water sports, animal kingdom, Aquadome indoor swimming pool, SPA. The events that they offer are also very well organized. They also have the Liquid Lounge boat which you can experience sunset cruises.

There was no phone or email connection to casino or resort at the time of attempted break in . Still to date I have not received a call or an email from the resort to escalate my experience. I was in no position to leave the guest house. As I had my 2 small kids with . Will never recommend to anyone.

We stayed here on a family trip and we all enjoyed the aquadome, bowling and arcade. Wanting to relax, I booked a massage, not so great experience. But overall we had a great stay. I would recommend it, except for the spa.

Horrible (unhealthy) air circulation in the casino area. The room wreaked of smoke after switching of the humidifier/freshner (which was very unpleasant and unhealthy). The meal I ordered at the High Stakes restaurant was cold and tasteless (bland). Sent it back and it still came back cold. The waitress clearly did not care. What a disappointment. Very disappointing evening overall. The morning breakfast was OK although the staff didn't seem very motivated.

It is a place that my 3 kids absolutely love. I like going to new places but they insisted on coming here again. I do believe that in terms of value for money, it can be cheaper priced but overall, it was a good hotel experience and we were in need of a good star grading hotel. Aquadome is always lovely and so was the zoo. The lion gave us an awesome welcoming roar!!
