When my 2 kids & I were placed in enforced quarantine on arrival in SA after arriving from Botswana during the Covid pandemic we were very nervous about what kind of facility we would end up in. We were incredibly relieved at ending up at the wonderful Capital on Empire. The apartments incredibly are wonderful and the service and friendliness of the staff excellent. We were treated so well. The entire hotel is exceptionally clean & hygenic and Covid protocols strictly enforced reassuring guests of their total commitment to our safety during this difficult time. Well done Amy Hart & team!

We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment on arrival. This particular room, on the first floor is situated close to the gym and the business centre is a perfectly situated room if you want a quiet stay to just relax but still see the bustling hive of activity that is Sandton. You can step out onto the balcony that overlooks the American Embassy on Rivonia Road as well as Rivonia Road itself. If it's too much for you, step back in the room, close the sliding door and, for an extra measure of privacy, close the curtains and all of a sudden you're enveloped in this blanket of calm serenity that is your hotel room. The best part of this room is being able to watch a storm roll over Sandton central, all from the safety of your room.

The room is equipped with a microwave, stove, washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, toaster, and kettle, crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as a very comfortable couch with big screen smart TV. The bedroom has blockout curtains and a very comfortable king-sized bed. Rooms equipped with USB powered, bedside lamps with 3-stage light intensity as well as another TV. TVs are equipped with satellite TV as well as dedicated YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video buttons on the remote. You can use your own account to log into each. Just remember to sign out when you're done.  Both TVs work independently of each other i.e. If you log into Netflix in the lounge, you won't be logged in on the TV in the bedroom.

All in all, a hotel worth staying at in Sandton

Stayed for a number of weeks with the entire family (2 adults & 3 kids) and we all had a fantastic time!

We had two very comfortable inter-leading bedrooms connecting to a large, modern and well equipped lounge, dining area and kitchen (Washing machine & tumble dryer).

The 1st floor garden was fun for the kids to be outside and was just off the really great gym. Made for convenient workouts while the kids got to play and still be in sight.

We walked and rode bikes to Sandton City quite a bit (Slide into Hamley's and fountain at the Nelson Square were the kids highlights).

Along with the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff at the hotel, the overall feeling of complete security, delicious breakfasts, coffees and the odd late night drinks at the bar were our highlights!

Looking forward to visiting again!

I was given a room that had been freshly painted and still had remnants of cement all over . I had to sleep with the window open in Room 113 , which was made impossible by the noise of cars driving up and down Rivonia Road . I had to request t be moved to a new room at 01:30 as I could not take it anymore. When I called the reception to request a new room, I was told none were available; It was only after I demanded to be moved to another hotel that suddenly a room became available. At least the new room was an upgrade .

The staff are very welcoming and the food is of high quality and more than makes up for the long wait to get the food.

The Capital Empire was just what we needed to rest and recover after a fairly stressful time with my husband having to have emergency surgery whilst on holiday due to a hiking accident.
We were looked after so well by Bonolo and Gladness on reception who were warm and welcoming and whose assistance went beyond our needs.
Lucky and Victor in the bar / restaurant greeted us by name each day and were always happy, laughing and lifting our spirits!
Bridgette in housekeeping created a spotlessly clean haven for us!
I can not fault this hotel! It is in a super location, just a 500m walk to the entrance of Sandton City Mall, it also has a gym, spa and outdoor pool!
The food was excellent, with heaps of variety.
Highly recommend for business, leisure or family!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment rooms 201 and 202.

Avoid this hotel if you want to sleep - other guests partied all night, loud music until 2am, shouting in hallways and noise at lifts and from car park. Room reeked of cigarette smoke. Aircon didn't work and couldn't open windows as neighbours were smoking and partying on their balcony. A disaster - be aware. it was in a good location and the front desk staff were helpful but the lack of sleep unfortunately made it a bad experience overall.

I stayed here for 1 week on a business trip and 8 have to say it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were big and the beds were very comfortable. The cleanliness of the rooms was very good and the service each day t make the room up was also very good. I was very impressed with the restaurant. There was a lot to choose from on the menu and the portions of food were very good and also good value. The waiting on staff were very professional and very attentive.

The hotel is situated well in Sandton City and very close to the shopping mall, restaurants and the Gautrain.

The hotel is fairly a good hotel. Location is excellent and rooms are neat and spacious. The house keeping does not always clean the room properly and they take long to give extra towls. The shower is big but is poorly designed. The water floods. The lighting in the unit is poor. The wrap on the cupboards are peeling

Capital Empire was a pleasure to stay at. The 2 room apartment was spacious with modern finishes.
Beautiful views from the balcony.

Restaurant offered a huge choice of foods and we found the breakfast and lunch buffets to be of high quality.

The staff are friendly and eager to help.

Positioned well, right behind USA consulate and across road from Discovery building. It's a 5 minute walk to Sandton city mall and about 35 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport. Mall of Africa is only a 25 minute drive.

Airport transfers are also offered by EZ transfers free of charge.

I highly recommend this hotel.
