We were there just overnight but enjoyed our stay. We loved where it was situated, basically on top of a giant luxury shopping mall. The room was good, the bed comfortable. A great suite if you are there on extended business because it has a full kitchen.
I've been at this property now for a couple of days (have now uploaded photos) and whilst on day one I was delighted by the square footage, the room having a lounge area and washing machine, by day three I have come to the realisation that this property doesn't supply the basics and is in dire need of deep renovation. Whilst its a decent sized space, the biggest issues are: Shabby sofa / furniture that is worn and lumpy and must be replaced with upholstery and buttons falling off. Fitted wardrobe is off its rails and doesn't close properly (this could be so easily fixed before a guest arrives). 10+ year old TV connected to an SD DStv decoder (not PVR, Not HD) via composite cable and a 14 inch CRT TV from the 1990s in the bedroom - so easily replaced without needing full room renovation . Rain water flooding into room and making carpets wet Shower head can't be moved downwards and away from the shower door causing flooding of the bathroom. Again something that can be easily fixed. No Iron or Ironing Board in the room, despite having a washing machine, this property doesn't even provide the basics of an iron and ironing board which can be found in almost every other hotel worldwide. Limited privacy as the whole length of the space has full length windows with the curtains not fully covering the windows. Light switches and other fixtures and fittings falling off or broken. Despite this, staff have been friendly and generally helpful, but for the price this place is hugely disappointing and doesn't meet basic standards for repair / and basic equipment etc. e.g. room TVs. There is little I can commend to anyone and I feel rather let down by the whole experience. I would no recommend staying here again under any circumstances as there are so many options at much better prices.…
Nice appartement overlooking Nelson Mandela Square. The surrounding air conditioning a bit nosy. Easy accès to mall and restaurant. Room could need a revamp in decoration and appliance. Breakfast at the Maximilian restaurant
Short of staying at one of the other hotels in the vicinity, you couldn’t get any closer to the shopping centre & Nelson Mandela Square. Restaurants & bars everywhere. Stayed in a grand suite. Very grand indeed. Came with it’s only plunge pool & a family of pigeons, which made the place homely. The staff were just excellent, just couldn’t do enough for their guests. Only minute niggle, TV’s in either room need updating with DSTV connectivity. A pain constantly walking into the living room to change channels. Aside of that, just a great stay.
Quiet. Clean and beautiful. Close to all the action. The Hotel is hidden away from the noise and attention of the Michelangelo but still offers the same comfort. It is right on the square and surrounded with amazing restaurants and good shopping.
