The most comfortable stay we have ever had in South Africa. The room was perfect and under floor heating a wonderful treat in winter. The breakfast excellent and the service very attentive. We will be back without any doubt.
Hoeveld is a notoriously well know property due to its ownership by mining personality Brett Kebble before his suspicious death some years ago. The house demonstrates some of the grace of its former glory, but probably post covid needs some TLC and attention. Dead orchids in vases don't do much for the overall sense of elegance and the ambiance. Excellent food and spacious rooms are undermined by a lack of a constantly present service that should for this type of offering be close at hand.
This place is Amazing and feels like a very comfortable home. Very well decorated, the breakfast is gorgeous and the service is great. The neighborhood is calm and safe and the security team of the place is nice and very serious. I will come back here without hesitation.
Well… where to start?! My family and I LOVED our stay here. The rooms were incredibly clean, spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was great. Felt safe and secure 100% of the time. The staff were lovely and attentive … particularly the young gentleman (his name escapes me) who served us drinks and was just all around a lovely person. Would rush back here in a heartbeat! A great place to spend a night or two in jo’berg
The staff, including Andrew, Bekhi, and Peaceful, went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Andrew purchased a number of vegan breakfast items for me. Upon my request, Bekhi removed the anachronistic animal skin rug from my room. (I would suggest that Hoeveld House remove them from all rooms as these rugs are inconsistent with the wildlife conservation ideals that attracts so many tourists to South Africa.) While the common areas are well-appointed and lovely, the real gem in this hotel is the expansive garden in the backyard. The Inanda neighborhood, where the hotel is located, appeared safe and very quiet, yet is centrally located. I wouldn't miss an opportunity to stay at the Hoeveld House.
We only popped here on business for one night and sadly was pouring with rain so couldn’t explore the property. Very convenient for what we needed. It was lovely and clean and comfortable. A lovely place to stay. The breakfast had a great choice and delicious.
We stay in many guest houses. This one is my favorite. We felt very at home Will be back. Lovely room. Beautiful old established garden. Staff great. Coffee solution at breakfast could be a bit better.
The place is beautiful with amazing furniture and gardens however the room we stayed in was dusty, had cobwebs, dirty cups and tea spoons. We reported on arrival to the stuff on duty, nothing was done
The hotel offers a beautiful setting in an old colonial house with a mature garden. The staff are very helpful, the rooms very comfortable and the while place is decorated in a relaxed and pleasant manner. The only issue is that it is not possible to walk to any restaurants .
No better place to stay after getting off a long flight. Stunningly beautiful, very calm and quiet and relaxing, a short uber to amenities, a great alternative to impersonal large soulless hotels. Just a shame they don't have more food on site, but highly recommended.
