I spent a week at the Sandton Sun Hotel for a wedding. It was a lovely hotel with such impeccable service across the board. I had no issues during my stay here at the Sandton Sun. You can access the Sandton Mall via floor level 6 of the hotel without having to go outside of the hotel building externally. They have a spa place which is up the escalator from the lobby. Unfortunately due to a busy schedule I was unable to use this facility. The rooms were well cleaned and provided enough toiletries each day. They provided two bottles of water when housecleaning team came around. They also provided one extra bottle and a chocolate in the evening when they do bed adjustment in preparation for bed time. A wide range of breakfast selection which is included in the package. Breakfast is served from 07:00-10:30. My stay at the Sandton Sun was such a delight that I felt safe at all times and staffs were all friendly with great customer service skills. I highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.…

Superb central location connecting to a mall and the central square . Though sometimes inconsistent, overall great service by the staff. The on-site restaurant is fabulous with the level of food I have rarely seen in a hotel restaurant - it's top quality, competing with other top notch restaurants in the locality. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, need refurbishment and that takes away one star out of my review. I've stayed here during my business trip and I went back with my family, and if I'm in Johannesberg I woudn't possibly consider another hotel.

Recently, while staying at the Sandton Sun hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa, we had an unexpected complication that caused us to extend our stay for more than a week. We travel frequently and we are rarely as impressed as we were by the level of warmth, efficiency and consideration shown by the hotel staff, from top to bottom. Specifically we would like to mention Niombi, an employee of the spa, Thulisile Pearl Nxele in the restaurant and Disebo Tlolane, the Guest Relations Manager as people who showed us friendliness and support; all were among the most incredible staff members we have ever encountered in our travels, and a credit to the hotel. As a whole, the Sandton Sun appears to train their employees with the theory that the guest is truly a guest; these three went above and beyond even that message and made our delay a peaceful and enjoyable one. We can't thank them enough, and will share this with everyone we know heading to Johannesburg. …

I have stayed at this hotel often over the past 25 years and enjoyed it. Their breakfast is very good. The staff is friendly. The wifi is good too. Easy access to the mall. I found the bed to be creaking loudly and the mattress was very uncomfortable . It woke me up every time I turned. I woke up exhausted for lack of sleep due to this. Although I was on a floor high up it was also very noisy from the deck below.

We stayed here for a total of 4 nites, beginning of March, two nites we had booked for some rest before joining a group tour of South Africa and Victoria Falls. Two more nites were included in the tour. We arrived very early on the first day, and our room wasn’t ready (no surprise), so we walked over to the mall via the 6th floor access. (Sandton mall), and had a very nice breakfast/lunch at the cafeteria in the Woolworths. When we returned to the hotel, our room was ready, and a porter brought our bags up right away. The room was of a good size, king size bed was comfortable, bathroom had separate shower and bath, and was nicely decorated. We were totally exhausted after almost 24 hours of travelling, and were fast asleep within minutes. Upon waking, we had a very nice dinner at the hotel’s San restaurant. Breakfast in the morning (included) was amazing- there was a cold buffet spread, and in addition, you could order an a la carte dish from the menu - no going hungry here. Honestly, the only thing i could complain about was how cold the water in the pool was.. Besides the easy access to Santon mall, you can also walk to the Nelson mandela square which flows into the sandton mall, which had quite a selection of restaurants - we ended up eatin 2 very nice dinners there. This would definitely be our hotel of choice, should we ever return to Johannesburg..…

I loved the welcome back from the staff that I knew. Sandton Sun has maintained their high standards. The room hygiene and comfort are outstanding. I learnt how to use the air conditioning control! I also found some really delightful items on the room service menu. I enjoyed my stay.

When it comes to location in Johannesburg, not many hotels can upstage the Sandton Sun - it’s linked to Sandton City shopping centre via an internal walkway, and is close to other Sandton landmarks. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with great views of Sandton and beyond. Breakfasts consist of a huge cold buffet spread, accompanied by a hot menu. Our seafood dinner was great too. I love the San Deck, one of the coolest sundowner spots in Johannesburg, as well as the spa, one of my favourite spas in South Africa. See my detailed review on my blog. Link in bio.

Very well located and Staff is very helpful and friendly however if you need to rest this isn't the place. Noise levels from inside and music from pool bar.i am currently here trying to sleep. It's like a fish market inside to with dishes banging around and kids screaming. Rooms a bit dusty also. This hotel has so much potential to be better.
