We had a work conference at Monte casino and chose to stay at hi Monte to try out a new brand. It was also a cost effective solution at R799 per room vs R1800 for the next best hotel.

We were concerned that it would feel like a cheap product but were we surprised on the quality and feel.

The feel from the reception to the room was top class. The reception and a playful feel with rope swings, great looking wall paper and a cool reception desk with glass and bike helmets. The stairs up to room and ceiling have a industrial metal look. The room number are a cool feature that projects the room number in the wall. The room has all the amenities you need with great detail. Amazing comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. The washroom has brass accents in mirror and fittings. The taps are groe brand.

What a great cool hotel. Will definetly stay here again.

This is the perfect place when you just need a room for the night at an affordable rate where you can relax and watch a movie. From the service at the front desk to the cleaning staff you receive friendly service. It was our second time staying there and we will stay there again.

Seriously.! This hotel offers great value. No frills and no food other than a snack and coffee for purchase but I would easily stay here again as a stopover hotel. Rooms are very basic and I’m still trying to figure out if the art work in my room was upside down on purpose or was hung that way accidentally. There are 2 double beds and my wife and I opted to take a bed each as we are used to King or at least Queen size. There is a basic coffee station (no fridge) and the bathroom has a large walk in shower. Food is close by at Monte Casino and parking is included and easy. My only 2 gripes were that there is no undercover access to The Monte Complex. It was pouring with rain and we got soaking wet getting from dinner at Monte back to the hotel. Secondly the elevators were out of order and we were on the third floor so luckily they offered a porter service. The hotel is modern, quirky and fun. The service was great, friendly and accommodating and I would easily recommend for a short stay.

No bar fridges, weak internet that drops several times a day, no direct landline to reception - whatsapp was the only way to communicate with them but only had my messages responded to two days later.

No microwave in the entire building, even the staff had to eat their food in the reception area which was kind of ratchet. There is a lockdown at 11 so majority of guests are still eating left over food which we had to consume cold because they didn't accommodate for a communal microwave at reception.

No smoking on the outside balcony which made no sense as you can smoke right outside reception.

Overall though, the location was good but these minor inconveniences really created an annoying stay.

would definitely recommend staying here, friendly staff and great beds lead to good nights sleep.
staff if friendly and is nice and central with easy access to surrounding attractions. They definitely need to sort the access to reception directly from the paring area because having to go through security checks every time you leave is a pain in the ass.

A Bar Fridge would be a Bonus. Provide more Tea and Coffee to feel welcome. Refreshments, Drinks and durable fast foods, etc. in the Fridge. These items may be billed when used. A jug of Water at the Bed side will be welcome.

We had two clean and comfortable rooms that were inline with the affordable rate. It was perfect for our needs as we “flew in, flew out” to see a show at Montecasino and so was convenient.
However, there were other guests who had no respect for anyone else and were exceptionally loud on their arrival to their room after midnight. Their disturbance of the peace became absolutely unbearable from 3-4am and I eventually reported this to reception who immediately sent security to sort it out. It was evident that reception & security were already aware of the noise but hadn’t done anything about it 🙄I was told that management would contact me (still waiting……..)
As much as this unfortunate experience wasn’t caused by the establishment, their failure to address it immediately (before I had to rant) and then the failure of management to make contact doesn’t sit well…….. :(

Next time we'll book a room further away from the stairs to avoid the noise of guests arriving and leaving. Also, it would be really great to have a selection of pastries or muffins in the morning to enjoy with our coffee. Overall, a great location, clean, modern and very comfortable!

We Love the Design, quality & convenience of the hotel as well as the affordability.
Rooms are comfortable, clean, and we loved that we could sleep 4 adults in their comfortably.
It was perfect to lay our heads down after a night of party.
Would recommend complimentary bottled water for guests.

The service is great. But there are a few let downs. The room is quite small to navigate around properly. Had the double beds but a bit too close.
The sink designs has water always going onto the floor. Shower same story although it was larger than expected. No lifts so left with carting my bags up two flights of stairs and I had a few. My mom battled as well with the staircase.
The sound proofing wasn't great.
But the look and feel of property isfaurly modern and was quite nice. Convenient to Monte casino. If the rooms were a bit more spacious would have got a higher rating because I had booked for a wk and it didn't make that very comfortable.
Also they messed up my booking. My confirmation showed a wk yet when I get to the prop they said and was adamant I booked for two days.
When I showed the confirmation the lady backtracked and seemed confused on how to deal with it.
