The gem that is Le Petit Fillan was indeed a breath taking find in the midst of Sandton. The venue is tucked away so that one feels as though one is at a retreat. The accommodation is top notch, on par with any 5 star big brand venue. The quality of the stay was exceeded only by the warmth of Tanya and her team, both on arrival and during the stay. I felt as though I was visiting family. Sitting with Elton, the owner, on my day of departure, enjoying a cup of coffee (they have really excellent coffee) and having a chat added a rather special touch.
I did not have breakfast, which was included, but managed to get a sense of the good food that was served up in the rather intimate eating space. There was the usual range of cereals, juices and hot food on offer. The other guests were definitely enjoying their meals. Did I mention that they have really good coffee?
The clean, spacious pool was a godsend in the summer heat whilst the extremely lush, well tended garden offered a sense of tranquillity that was much appreciated. Had I stayed longer, the serene environment would've been perfect for a lazy day of reading and napping.
The rooms are spacious (I was fortunate enough to have been shown the rooms that were waiting for guests to check in) and the bed I slept on was very comfortable. My bathroom was far better than many hotels I have stayed in.
The location is also perfect as Sandton City, the Gautrain and Sandton Convention Centre are all a mere 8 minute Uber ride away.
As with all superlative places, I wished I had more time to spend at La Petite Fillan!

The service provided to me at Le Petit was excellent from both hosts Elton and Tanya to the cleaning staff.
The room was spacious, modern, and well kept; I had a room facing the pool waking up to sunshine every morning. The Wi-Fi in the room was excellent which is a major point for me when staying abroad.
Le Petit is located in Sandton surrounded by beautiful homes and scenery, in addition, it's in a low-traffic area so there is zero noise pollution.
What I liked best is the infrastructure of the guesthouse which was immaculate and designed for comfort. The heated mattress was a bonus.
Ample parking and safe.
I extended my stay here multiple times as I was extremely comfortable; I'll be back on my next visit to Jozi.

A tranquil, safe home from home, to put up your feet at the end of a busy day. The hosts are always welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Our stay was wonderful. The room is very clean and neat. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. Management was very professional and went beyond expectation for service. The breakfast is first class. The ambience of the Guest House is fantastic. The location is fantastic being in Johannesburg without the hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough to all the areas and venues we had to attend. The pool, garden and braai area was right outside our room and the setting is very tranquil.
