From the moment I walked through the door I was greeted by the friendliest door man on earth. A welcome home hug he took me to reception. Every aspect of the hotel is well thought through with staff only to happy to say hello and help you out. Dinner at the hotel was a real treat with a great food selection and hotel serving staff that offered a friend and quietly helpful service. This is my new home away from home. If you stay anywhere else you’re wasting your money.

The Capital on the Park is my favorite hotel compared to the numerous other hotels I’ve visited globally. From the room design, which assures maximum privacy, to the in-house food. The ability to choose between a party by the pool or quiet time in your room, this hotel has it all. Also, they have the friendliest and most accommodating staff and booking through their website as a La Famiglia member is unbeatable in terms of price which cuts out 3rd party issues. I stayed in the one bedroom apartment over two periods of time the past two months and it’s always felt like both a vacation and home.

Highly recommended.

Stayed for one week for a conference at the hotel. Great location right in the center of town. Stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was spacious enough and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Restaurant offered fresh, tasty food and all staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Wi-Fi was perfect and strong throughout the hotel. Some entertainment in the evenings, particularly Fridays would be great.

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. It took over 24 hours and several calls to get clean towels. Then they only provided two towels at a time but it was two of us in a room. We had to go back and forth as to why we needed more towels. Some of the towels had stains on it. They do not offer a face wash/ cloth to clean your body and said guest are supposed to bring it. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The air barely works and stains on towels and bedding.

The only saving grace is most not all of the staff were nice. Some need to be trained I. Hospitality. The pool area is extremely nice

The rooms are quite small, the bathroom rather cramped. No slippers, no bathrobe, no prime on TV.

Breakfast is American/South African oriented. The bread that was laid out was so dry that it came close to a rusk. The cook wasn't that skilled: the ordered fried eggs weren't soft, they were hard.

With five stars, I expect a little more.

On the chain’s website was a note that you get a free night if you send a screenshot of a cheaper price than on Capital’s website to them. I enjoyed the fun once 😉 a reply has been pending since May.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. Upon checking in, I was given a key card that only allowed single access to my room on the fourth floor. After leaving my room, I returned to find I couldn’t get back in, forcing me to make at least eight trips to the reception on my first day alone to get an alternative card. Unfortunately, this issue continued into my second day, wasting my time and causing immense frustration.
To make matters worse, my card didn’t grant me access to the stairs. Despite repeatedly requesting assistance, I was assured that technicians were working on it, but the problem was never resolved during my stay.
Additionally, I was assigned a room with a malfunctioning bathroom sink. I reported this issue multiple times, both through room calls and in-person visits to the front desk, yet it took two days to get it fixed.
On my final night, I was horrified to wake up with a cockroach on my face at 11:41 PM. The shock of it startled me awake, and when I threw it to the floor, it crawled under the bed. I reported this incident, but no action was taken, and I was left to sleep in the same room until the next day.
I shared all of these concerns with the guest relations manager, who promised to follow up with me, but I never heard back before checking out. This was my worst hotel experience ever, and I sincerely hope no one else has to endure such poor service.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the entire team at The Capital on the Park Sandton. A special thanks to Paul and Peggy, who I often bother with reservations-they are always professional and quick to attend to our needs.

My experience at The Capital was amazing. Despite arriving early, they accommodated an early check-in and later upgraded me to a better room with a stunning view, thanks to a friendly lady from the morning shift on Saturday and Sunday (I wish I remembered her name). The porter, an older gentleman working the afternoon shift, was incredibly helpful and welcoming, as were all the staff.

The friendliness and willingness of the team to ensure we had a pleasant stay truly stood out. Thank you for an excellent experience—
-keep up the great work!"

Terrible experience here. Had a security guard in the very early hours of the morning literally barge into my room because apparently there was no one that was supposed to be in the room , which made no sense at all. I then informed the receptionist about it the next morning and literally no concern or remorse was shown for something that they might have caused. Nice hotel but definitely seems to be poorly run in terms of service.

We loved staying at this hotel.
We stayed 3 times (total of 5 nights).
The area is safe & quiet.
The staff is very friendly, patient & always with good attitude.
Very comfortable pool area. The only thing is that the pool is at room temperature, it was very cold.
Food & drinks are delicious, priced right for what you pay.
I'd just add more options to breakfast.
The comfortable room, small space but with what you need.
Bed & pillows well, I would add another type of pillow since the ones they have are very watery.
We couldn't use the sauna because it wasn't working.
Outside of these details:
We would definitely stay again & highly recommend it.
