I attended an AGM at Sandton Sun today and feel it really deserves a great review. From the friendly, attentive security staff, to conference staff to the restaurant staff - only good things could be said. The Conference venue itself could not be faulted, sound system was great, temperature perfect. There was a wide selection of morning eats which looked and tasted delicious. Luncheon was marvellous - I had a seafood starter with shrimp, big prawn and avocado and a really delicious sauce. Main course was the grilled salmon which was the best prepared salmon I have ever had. There was also a lovely vibe in the hotel and conference area - wherever one went. Classy but very friendly and welcoming.

Upon arrival Mr Amos, the gentleman at the gate was so friendly to us and we felt our presence was acknowledged which was great. Thank you bra Amos. The reception ladies were all smiles and what stood out was how they managed attending to each guest one by one without it being messy or having the awaiting guests waiting to check in feeling irritable. I am mentioning this because I came with a group of my colleagues and we were all attended to quite well. I loved the room but it could do with more flatter pillows, but none the less I couldn't fault it, I was happy to see an iron and iron board came with the room set up. My favourite part was the Dinning area. Great staff indeed. A gentleman by the name of Mpumi in particular was always making sure we were comfortable at all costs and very friendly to everyone who signals for his assistance at the restaurant from my observation. Above all. It was a pleasant stay and looking forward to visiting again. PS: Thank you to all staff for wearing name tags ;)…

One of the worst "high end" hotels I ever stayed in. Shelving in cupboard falling down, breakfast not ready on time, rooms needs refreshing, staff - especially restaurant - needs serious customer focus training. Coffee and tea not replenished daily. Overall not a good place to stay.

I’m a lover of burgers yesterday I opted to spend the afternoon with a friend since it was woman’s day she dragged me to to this beautiful hotel with an amazing burger mind you I ate half and took half home yeah that’s the serving portion. Had the kind service of Lubabalo the barman constantly refilling my beverage at a nice cold temperature suggested this burger really went over and beyond his call of duty we had an awesome afternoon to evening our we have found a new place to unwind after a long day.

We stayed there with family and with a group during the month of August. The bad: -There seems to be no porter service as nobody brought our luggage upstairs and we had to go fetch them ourselves, carry them all the way upstairs through the elevator. The answer was we had to identify our luggage first. But after identification by ourselves, nobody assisted us. The staffs did see us dragging with difficult the luggage but with nobody to help or to advise on this -However, we were supposed to get the lunch with the group. It took a very long time to setup the table and get the food. -the majority of the staffs are not focused/smiling. The rest of the restaurant staffs were not that communicative or very proactively helpful. The good: -The hotel is ideally situated in joburg, especially if you want to be near the area of Sandton mall. -The hotel seems fairly upgraded, especially the reception. -The restaurant as well seems quite upscale. -some staffs are courteous There is one older lady in the morning in the kitchen service who was very courteous and helpful. Sonia is very helpful indeed The next morning the staffs were different and slightly more courteous and there was more porters. The room was relatively well kept and clean although it might need some further touch up on maintenance if you are picky The room is an average size with lots of lights, desk and tv The bed was ok but the pillow need further improvement Overall An ok hotel to stay if you are prepared to look beyond the service quality but location/proximity is your priority…

Very neat, clean and well maintained facilities. Previously operated as the Holiday Inn Sandton. This is my second stay at this hotel and it offers very good value for money. The staff is polite and friendly; they’re very eager to assist. Well positioned in the heart of Sandton.

I was left stranded at the mall when the last shuttle to the hotel was scheduled for 9pm and I waited outside at the pick up point from 8:59 until 9:45 on when I then called the reception who told me the shuttle left at 9pm. However I was waiting there and no shuttle came, I was there with atleast 9 others who had to take a taxi. I ended up ordering 2 Ubers which have specific pick up points and for some reason they do not come to the entrance of malls. Being 10 pm it was very dangerous to walk outside the mall to their pick up points. I cancelled 2 Ubers who would not come to the entrance, and then eventually a 3rd Uber came and picked us up. This extremely inconvenienced us, and was frankly dangerous. On the first night in the hotel electricity cut off while I was watching a movie on Netflix and the WiFi was not even on a back up. I understand there’s loadshedding but a hotel should atleast have back up lights and WiFi. At the very least. I went to sleep without finishing the movie.…

In Johannesburg ...Holiday INN Sandton is perfect for two nights. Its an above average four star, conveniently located Room was Clean rooms , with good pillows and towels. Breakfast was ok , but dinner was disappointed. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Stayed on June 30th for two nights.

The only thing going for this hotel is the spacious reception lounge and their fresh croissants. They clean rooms so late. When they do clean they do a a very shaddy job of it. Please replace toiletries, towels those are basic things. You could go out for 5hrs and when you come back tired wanting to rest, room is still not cleaned. Everytime i ordered in room bfast the order was always short. These guys will stress you big time.
