We stayed at The Syrene because it was recommended by family who live nearby. The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, which I much prefer to large hotels in commercial districts. The rooms were large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Best of all, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a birthday tea party for 15 people at the elm tree restaurant. It was raining so the function was indoors.
The tea stands were beautifully presented with creative, tasty and aesthetically pleasing sweet and savoury bites.
The service exceeded expectations, the staff were really helpful and friendly and assisted without being called.
Really happy that we chose to have the tea at the Syrene.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasteful, upmarket venue.

There are superb surroundings at this lovely establishment. Staff and facilities are fantastic. I would highly recommend The Syrene Hotel as guests will really feel welcome there. It has a small hotel environment, much better than faceless larger city hotels.

The food at The Elm Tree Restuarant, part of the Hotel, adds a real home from home atmosphere.

I highly recommend staying at the Syrene Boutique Hotel. This is such a lovely and cosy safe place to stay. All the staff are so friendly and they really do go out of their way to be extra helpful when needed. The food is absolutely delicious. I looked forward to breakfast every morning. The rooms are large, very clean and comfortable with a powerful rainfall shower. You are within walking distance of shops and some nice restaurants. We were thoroughly looked after throughout our stay. Tony and Dani the owners were so lovely and helped us with all queries about the area. They arranged private transport for us as well. I have to say this hotel has to be one of my most favourite stays in all my travels. I will return for sure. 5 star review from me. Well done to the Syrene Team.

This is one of my favourite boutique hotels so far. It is beautiful, the common areas are spacious and charming, the rooms are huge with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The couple that owns the place were gracious and made my stay so much better (At one point, the owner dropped me off at work because the Ubers were acting funny). The staff were warm and delightful. Another highlight was definitely the food! I actually have cravings for it now that I'm home 😅
The gym is modest but I really only needed the rowing machine which was available.
I highly highly recommend the place.

The level of care and attention to detail is truly refreshing. Amazing tranquility... you will think that you are miles away from the city.

A great spot for a business breakfast or lunch meeting.

Varied menu with a variety of options.

The breakfast was scrumptious.

This little boutique hotel located in Rivonia is a true gem. I stay there regularly on my business trips to Johannesburg. The rooms are luxurious and very generous in size with A/C and under-floor heating.

The staff are friendly and attentive. Although as a vegetarian I find the menu in the restaurant a little limited the options that are available are delicious. Being primarily business hotel it is quiet and welcome oasis at the end of a long day.

The only downside about the Syrene is the location. The road infrastructure in Rivonia is in a poor state and it gets quite congested. There are multiple building projects happening in the same street with heavy trucks and dust everywhere.

Had the pleasure visit here last evening for a work outing, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. We began with a wife tasting, with the wild and entertaining Glen, win taster extraordinaire! He made learning and trying wine fun, and the whole group walked (stumbled) away having had a blast.

The restaurant was also very nice, with great wine selection. The hotel itself was very nicely put together, and would like to stay here on next trip to Jo’Burg!

Highly recommended!

I visit Sandton regularly from London on Business and usually stay close to Sandton City on this occasion I ventured a little further down Rivonia Road, about 10 to 15 mins more to be exact. I took a taxi from the Sandton Gautrain Station which was not far at all from the hotel.

I discovered a quiet and beautifully presented little hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The room was very clean and modern and five star quality. It had the added luxury of underfloor heating and a large bedroom which was tastefully decorated. The restaurant had an affordable menu and the food was well presented and tasty. The full english breakfast was served and not a usual cold buffet that is served in most hotels. Unfortunately, it was not that busy, however I am sure that if it was better known it would be packed.
