Only compliments - from being assisted with luggage through to walking into the spacious room and being served an excellent breakfast through to sitting on the stoep overlooking the pool and being served a cup of tea with a smile. The historic guesthouse is beautifully furnished with selected antiques, great artworks, and fresh flowers. Like coming home! Will certainly go back and recommend to business and leisure travelers. Very centrally situated in sought after tree-lined and quiet area near most embassies, University of Pretoria, Brooklyn Mall and top restaurants. On-duty guard allows for safe entry at night.

Pleased that the owners of the guest house were continuing to welcome weary guests and reviving them, The house had high ceilings and this gave my room a very spacious feeling. I would check the extension plugs to accommodate adaptors as I am a UK traveller. Proper coffee was in the room with a cafetiere. The garden was very nice to look at as it was of a formal type.

We stayed at Osborne house as it is close to Jacaranda hospital. It was a lovely place and the host was very attentive. we had a good nights rest and the breakfast was good. The host made us sandwiches for supper as my husband was unwell and could not go out.

Kind and attentive hosts, and overall pleasant place, but: the first room, right opposite the breakfast room, has a strange glass door overlooking the WC - which can be seen from the bed, this was not our cup of tea, although it does not seem to bother other customers we requested a change of room and it was luckily granted (thank you!). The upgraded room, overlooking the patio, was more spacious but needed some maintenance and plumbing repairs, we reported a few issues. Overall, it all felt a bit tired and in need of maintenance and a facelift, albeit the house was a charming Victorian residence. Unfortunately, the national heavy power cuts (6h/day) did not help much during our short stay, with the house having no backup energy source, lights, kettle, internet, gate bell and so forth were not working; our hosts agreed the house will need some form of power backup if these continue for much longer.

TV not working. No Satellite TV or air-condition in room as advertised. Bathroom filthy with Mould and spider webs all over the walls. White silicone round bath black with Mould and so was shower mat. No hot water on the Saturday afternoon or evening. Half used/empty toilet rolls provided (even spare rolls half used in dirty basket under basin. No toilet spray provided. Bath towels provided threadbare and old - one with holes and tears, and other about to tear in places. Had to move fridge away to get to plug to boil kettle and desk away to use plug for hairdryer. Couch provided in room in need of a good wash and clean. Owner blamed shortage of staff for the state of towels and dirty bathroom which is unacceptable, when i complained. Did not have breakfast that was included in price due to uncleaniness of room and was worried about hygiene kitchen.

Exceptional hospitality . Lovely rooms each decorated in a tasteful manner. My room has a nice seating area and some beautiful pieces of furniture. There’s also a fridge and kettle in the rooms. We could sit outside next to the pool or on the veranda. Breakfast was good though I couldn’t be persuaded by the landlady to have eggs in the morning. WiFi was good. Great location near a mall with nice restaurants. Quiet area too. Note that there’s load shedding in place so during our stay at times the electricity was off,

We visited in late December to early January 2019-2020. This is a beautiful old home with 5 lovely rooms in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts, the Claasens are the most gracious people ever. They made certain that my wife and I were comfortable and felt at home. Sitting on the wide porch watching birds in the garden while sipping a beer was as relaxing as possible. I would highly recommend this guest house.

Breakfast was divine. The location was perfect for us. The hosts (Wynand & Jeanette) were absolutely fabulous and made us feel like friends rather than guests. The house is old, beautiful and quaint with manicured gardens and an enclosed pool area onto which our bedroom opened on to.

Osborne Guest House is well-located and well-appointed. The hosts are helpful and congenial, and a source of information about the area and its history. Breakfast was substantial. Ideal for an overnight or longer stay in the Brooklyn area.
