We checked in late, were welcomed at the parking entrance by a helpfull staff member and served by a competent clerk at reception. It all went very smooth and quick. The amenities were clean and organised and we immediately felt at home. The room was spacious and spotless. Checkout went as smooth and I need to use the word effortless from my side. Thank you to Ben and your team, your hotel is a beacon of style.

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Dark and dingy hotel with limited natural light. Rooms are OK but a bit dated and not the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Food was predictable and repetitive. The hotel swimming pool is akin to a pond. Spend your money elsewhere if you can.

The room was spacious and clean, with complimentary bottled water, coffee etc. The aircon worked really well, and there is more than enough cupboard space and drawers to put things away in.

However, the front desk staff weren't particularly helpful or friendly. The restaurant waiters are useless (but the lady at the till was great). The food was so-so, and not worth the price of the buffet (especially the breakfast).

I will probably have to overnight here again for future business trips, but I would not recommend it for holidays or couples.

Note: there is a shuttle service to Gautrain station, but this stops at 5pm. So we had to Uber at night, which was very dodgy.

This hotel is to avoid! Really!
First impression: I arrived and nobody at the reception...(it is supposed to be a 4* hotel...) had to wait a couple of mins alone in the tiny little lobby before someone appears.
I did my booking directly with the hotel and they already charged me the total amount in advance..fine.
When the receptionist arrived he was about to charge my CC (again!) a higher amount for the room, a higher amount for the trasnfert I had and something like 200R just "in case" I had some extras (???). He did not even know that all was already paid!
Then I got my room key and asked for internet...I was explained that since the Director was already home and the vouchers were in his office I had to wait until the next day to connect to Internet!!!!! Just unbelievable! No care at all if I had to work, no apologies, nothing! just normal procedure!
I booked a Suite and the size of the room was ok, cleanliness as well, but:
- Mini bar: empty! Nothing in it!
- Room very hot and no individual AC
- Terribly noisy! the room was facing the street and no sound proof!
After all this and after having asked to meet the Director, i asked if i could at least keep the room until 15h00 because i had a workshop there in the afternoon and did not want to wait in the lobby (c-out is at 11h00):
- the Director never show up or call...was in a meeting...
- I was told that i had to pay extra fee and finally, after big discussion with receptionist, i received a call in my room saying that "the general manager exceptionally allowed me to remain in the room until 14h00" !!! thank you very much for your kindness!
In brief: please do not make my mistake, just AVOID this crazy hotel!!!!

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Union Buildings. My booking was handled by an agent so check-in was quite painless and handled very professionally. The hotel is relatively new and so is in a very good state of repair. The rooms are more than adequate (in fact quite big) if they are to be used as overnight stops. If you are going to spend most of your time in the room then they would be too small. The room was spotless, as always. A number of satellite channels are available in the room. The dining room offers a wide selection of good food both at dinner and for breakfast. Staff across the board were more than happy to help and were very polite.

Gripes: in this day and age I would expect limited free WiFi at a hotel. This is not the case and guests are required to pay for access at a rate that many might consider exorbitant.

Caution: it is not safe to walk around outside the hotel especially if you are alone.

As with my experience at the Premier Hotel in Kempton Park, the staff were excellent.
Having said that it took almost an hour to get dinner delivered to my room. The room and more especially the bathroom were tired and in the case of the bathroom in need of a deep clean!

This hotel was our first stop on Kuoni's 'Best of Africa' Tour. This tour is fully escorted. Our flight landed at Jo'burg at around 7am and we were taken straight to the hotel in Pretoria. The tour guide had already notified the hotel of our arrival time and we were given a lovely welcome, check in was very quick and we were able to go to our room immediately. As the tour progressed we really appreciated having an excellent guide, John Finch, who was extremely efficient and ensured that all our check ins throughout the tour were smooth and trouble free.

We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary on this trip and the hotel upgraded us to a suite. We were only staying one night but the service was excellent.

The hotel has a small garden area with pool and an outside terrace area leading from the main restaurant with umbrellas and tables where we had lunch and breakfast the following morning. It was surprisingly quite for a city centre hotel. Dinner was a buffet which was also very good. This hotel was a good choice for our first day in South Africa.
