I am so disappointed about the horrible service I received on the day of my arrival. The lady on the reception made me feel like a fool and stupid person asking me all useless questions instead of resolving the problem she was telling me about my booking error of which it was non of my responsibility. it took us an hour waiting to check in after that she just went out for 5 mins and then she came back and said the problem was resolved we can check in. Even the following day she kept asking me if I still want to do massage with my daughter as if she was the one who was going to pay. I felt like she did not want us on the premises she was pushing us to leave early in the morning. I have

Location seemed so unsecured, being below a major motorway, and next to an open field and a dodgy cul-de-sac. Allocated room is accessed either through a tortuous route by the swimming pool or a more dangerous, thin, stairway that gave me some dizzying spells while climbing up or descending down it (Used this twice instead of the longer poolside route as there were other hotel guests lining that route who were female and almost naked by the poolside, along my foot-walk...). Staff were however very helpful, and even assisted with ironing partner's dresses free-of-charge, but the bathroom needed renovations, and was shocked to find that only one towel was provided for us both (Had to insist on at least one more!). Breakfast was just plain bread/butter/eggs, and tea/coffee. I will not recommend this property at all for guests, other than if they had no other choice...

i think the place needs to be evaluated and improved. The breakfast was not nice at all. we were not given options. you eat what is given to u. the least is give people options. the walls in the room i was in was not appealing. the wall needs to be painted. the TV was not working it was just blue in all the channels. it was my boyfriend and i but the room only had one towel. that was not impressing at all. the only good thing is the service and the staff. i would not recommend anyone to use this lodge

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The rates was reasonable with breakfast included. Although it looks like it is situated next to the highway, it is actually a very quiet area. I can highly recommend this guesthouse and will definitely stay there again.

AVOID SGEGEDE Guesthouse even if it is the last place to stay. The most miserable experience ever - unethical, daylight robbery. We chose this guesthouse under the misrepresentation of beautiful photos on various advertising websites and claims to being wheelchair friendly. We however could not even stay one night due to the following reasons: - NOT wheelchair friendly! - no sense of security, or safety - they expected us to sleep in a poorly ventilated converted garage, - unhygienic - the one 'garage' was being used by the public attending an event the night we arrived - the other 'garage' toilet's seat was broken right off the toilet - the manager instructed me to cancel booking request through Accommodation Direct (to avoid booking fees) and to pay Sgegede 50% deposit directly. Although the manager sympathetically agreed the place was not up to expectation nor suitable on our arrival, she was unable to convince the owner to refund us our deposit. We lost the full deposit of R4788 which we needed for the alternative accomodation we had to go and find, after dark in a strange city. - It is nothing short of daylight robbery - especially as there are web adverts stating - "NO deposits necessary" and "Only pay if you STAY" WARNING: These statements are all misleading and were untrue in our experience :-( Don't get caught!
