We stayed here for one night as part of our tour of South Africa. It was ok. It was an apartment hotel so had everything you needed. I have walking difficulties and use a cane which I pointed out but our room was at the top of the building with an outside staircase (no lift) and it had been raining. So I wasn't pleased. The staff were nice, and friendly. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very badly lite. We asked for candles. It was the most expensive meal we'd had in South Africa and it was awful. The breakfast was nice.
We had one night at the Court Classique. Located in a residential area. It is a small hotel, but the room we got was a suite with a lounge area, dining table and small kitchenette. Friendly and efficient check-in. Quite steep stairs to get to the room. It had been raining, so the stairs were rather slippery. No lift. The room was spacious and clean, nice bathroom, comfortable beds, quiet. The area did not encourage venturing out for dinner, so we opted for the hotel restaurant and we were not disappointed.. Breakfast was also served there in the morning, buffet type with the essentials. All in all, a comfortable stay, but I would pick a more centrally located hotel if should be visiting Pretoria for a longer time.
The reception was ok but the duty manager Nomsa left the porter with the keys and to explain how the lights and wifi worked. Pathetic. The pathway to the rooms was dirty for 2 full days. In the room the sheets were bloodstained and the sheets were too small for the bed. The shower head did not work nor did the water drain adequately. The bathroom had mould on the walls. Really terrible. The food at the restaurant was good and compliments to the chefs Patrick and MIke.
Loved my stay. the staff are like angels. So polite and accommodating! I look forward to my next visit. Love the way the rooms are situated. Beautiful green surroundings. Forgot i was in a city. Rooms size - massive! service brilliant!
We only stayed over night in Pretoria in order to catch the Rovos Rail early the next day. It was booked by our travel firm, and I am so glad it did not reflect any of the other accommodations they chose for us. The outside areas were ok and though small reception was clean, tidy and the staff welcoming. Our ‘suite’ however was rather dark and dingy despite the large french window which led out onto a very dirty veranda with no furniture. The carpet was wet around the air con and the bathroom needed a damn good deep clean, or better still a refurb! The adjoining restaurant and bar were fine, and the food was freshly cooked a reasonably priced so it wasn’t all bad. Safe to say, we would not have wanted to stay more than one night, and wouldn’t return. It is a budget hotel, not luxury as the name implies.…
I'm sorry to say but this is one of the worst places I have stayed in and I've stayed in dozens upon dozens. The shower was full of mould, the mattress on the sofa bed was old, very thin and sagged in the middle. We arrived in the evening and very exhausted so I asked housekeeping if I could have the linen to make up the sofa bed, this was met by a not so pleasant response that she would do it and I would just have to wait until she was ready. After approx half an hour, she was ready to make up the bed, the bed couldn't be unfolded out and after several attempts, had to call someone to help unfold it. This took another half an hour! I could see that the mattress was old, saggy and thin and requested another one but sadly could not. needless to say it was a terrible sleep or I should say not much sleep was had. In the mean time, my daughter was wanting a shower and after seeing the state of it, we all showered in our flip flops..it was absolutely disgusting. I wanted to quickly iron a couple of clothes items ready for the morning and when ready to plug it in, I noticed that the iron plug didn't match the outlet., so again called housekeeping. They said someone would be there shortly, no one came that night. I called again in the morning, they replaced it with another iron that is attached to the ironing board and as fast as I was filling the iron with water, it was pouring out of the bottom just as fast. I gave up the ironing idea. So we then went to the restaurant for our buffet breakfast which was included in the stay, about an hour after the breakfast started, it was almost all gone and nothing was being replenished. We basically ate the dregs so I ordered a latte for myself and 2 hot chocolates for my kids and was expected to pay for them to which I firmly stated that I wasn't going to after such a crappy night. They honoured it, which was the only good thing to come out of that stay. …
The hospitality was great. I was treated with respect and as a very important person. The service was excellent right from inquiry about the prices to check in up to check out. there is also a shuttle service around Pretoria which saves you the time and stress of driving around. i enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back soon.
Friendly helpful staff especially in regards to a difficult situation Allowed us to stay in our rooms due to a mix up in transfer times Would recommend this hotel to others We were welcomed and well looked after
Kitchen and Bathroom had not been god, but average. The rest was very good. Service and Breakfast have been excellent. The houses and the whole area was wunderful. Our first stop after arrival in Pretoria. A good start.
