I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel which has a very traditional old school feel.

The Suite was very spacious and comfortable.

There is a great restaurant and the cuisine was very good. The service was average.

Great Bar | Lounge and outdoor garden & pool areas.

I highly recommend this hotel for corporate travellers who specialize in conferences, gala dinners and events.

Overall I had a pleasant stay.

Relaxed atmosphere as you walk in. Cattering for all tastes young and old. Really an experience to have. You can sit on the patio or inside with stunning features to look at and admire, personnel is friendly and helpful no matter what time day or night

I spent 3 nights at this hotel and it was great. The rooms were clean and it's a very beautiful hotel. Excellent service from the reception area. Lucky (I believe that's his name - Tall dark waiter) is the personthat made me want to return to Sierra Hotel Burgers Park whenever I'm around Pretoria. He is an asset to the hotel. I definitely recommend it.

I had the good fortune to stay in Burgers Park Hotel for 2 nights recently. All the staffs were friendly, willing to help and courteous (there was one incident that my husband and I did not encounter before anywhere was that when we invited our excellent tour guide, Mandla, to have dinner with us after a long day of grilling sightseeing trips around Pretoria and Johannesburg, the restaurant in the hotel would not let him in with his shorts, he had to wear my husband"s pants to get into the restaurant. We all had a good laugh and settled for a wonderful dinner that evening. They even have the shuttle to pick the customers from the airport for half the price of a taxi ride. The buffet breakfast was free for the hotel customers. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent and plentiful. I will certainly stay there again if I am fortunate to go back to South Africa again.

I understand that this hotel is frequently used by the government to host seminars. The lobby is very nicely decorated with African themes. Although I gave the hotel itself three stars, I would give the conference service five. There were not that many comments in Tripadvisor at the time of this review, so I tried my best to give the information I would have liked to know. I even uploaded some pictures, which I normally do not do.

Location: the hotel is next to "Burger Park" in the outskirts of Pretoria. It is very well located in case you need to work downtown or visit government offices, but I would definitively choose a different hotel for tourism. The hotel is close to some shopping centres during the day, but there are not many options nearby for dinning and I would definitively not recommend walking in the area during the night. However, it is possible to get a taxi to Brooklyn mall, where some of the nice restaurants are grouped. The Union buildings, one of the main tourist attractions in Pretoria, are not particularly close (about 30 minutes walking distance).

The rooms: mine had good space and had all the amenities you normally enjoy in this kind of hotels, but it felt a bit old and tired (in particular the bathroom). Walls are thin, so you may hear noise from the adjacent rooms. The air-conditioning didn't cool much, but the area is relatively calm during the night, so I enjoyed opening the window.

Breakfast: Lots of variety and food quality was very good. I liked, in particular, the big availability of fruits and, to my taste, the outstanding caramelized onions.

Service: Excellent. All employees I dealt with were quick to help and always with a smile.

Conference services: my company organized an event and we were very happy with it. They are clearly used to dealing with large groups and complex requests. Absolutely no complaints in this respect.

Transport desk was tops there service very good but which I could say same of Reception. The Saturday I reported the one light is not working it was never repaired I request the shuttle for the sunday but was never noted. The afternoon had no hot water thought it was due to late shower what a surprise sunday morning cold water again that is for winter not pleasant. The amount you had to pay for cold water is not worth it. If they have workshops please cater for the other residents seperate as this is also not pleasant then all of the workshops want to sit at your table 😡 for this I cannot rate more than 1 as terrible

The Burgerspark Hotel in the Pretoria CBD has been around for a very long time, a landmark and the location of choice for weddings, conferences and a superb Sunday breakfast for those travelling from the suburbs.

For me, the Pretoria CBD has become a dismal place, a far-cry from a once-booming financial and fashion capital. However, this property has retained its erstwhile charm and high standards, irrespective of the fact that it is now privately-owned.

It still boasts excellent restaurants and bars, comfortable rooms, superbly appointed lounge areas, five star conference facilities, a sparkling blue swimming pool and lush gardens ... truly an oasis in a 'barren' landscape!

The staff, from reception to restaurant to housekeeping, are extremely friendly and helpful. No request is too big or too small.

This venue is superb for both business traveller and tourist alike and breathes fresh air into a decaying city. Highly recommended!

I stayed a week in this Hotel for a conference. Very badly located, not advisable to walk around. Rooms were a bit old, specially the bathroom which was not nice at all. After a shower, the whole floor of the bathroom inevitably flooded no matter what invention you made with the very worn-out curtain. The room was cold at the time of the year I visited and no heating was available. The common areas are ok, and in general terms it is clean. I must accept the food was reasonably good. Staff kind but not too much. On their website there seems to be a gym in the Hotel, but actually when you ask they explain it refers to "nearby facilities". The internet is a complete mess. Slow, unreliable, it disconnects all the time, and for reconnection you have to type in a long code provided on pieces of paper they give you one by one on the reception, that last very little. Yes, they provided more of these papers with codes upon request, but half of them didn't work. This is unacceptable for a Hotel that claims to be for a corporate target. I would recommend many other options available in Pretoria.

Stayed here for 3 nights and would be back again. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff were all fabulous. You pay R40 for car parking per day. We asked for a room with a carpet (638) as it was winter. The room was a little outdated. There was a bath and there was a shower attachment which leaked which wasn't good. We ate all our meals in the restaurant- buffet style and great value. Shuttle bus to the airport which was great and we were accomodated with a late check out until 3pm with no extra charge. One tip. Housekeeping call early so put the "Do not Disturb" sign outside the door if you don't want to be woken at 7.30 am!! Lovely pool with some loungers to sit in the sun. Gorgeous gardens with lovely trees- you would forget you were in the city until you hear the taxis starting to blow their horns at daylight.

the bar is very small and quite upmarket. I never drank in the bar as we had our child with us and he wasn't allowed in. It never seemed to be full. People seemed to have a drink and go. There is a tv which plays sport all the time. As we say in Ireland there isn't much "craic"
