We recently stayed at Isiphiwo Boutique Hotel & Spa on one of their special packages which included a visit to the spa, accomodation as well as dinner and breakfast. From the onset of our booking they went out of their way to accomodate us with special requests in a very competent and professional manner.

The setting is absolutely perfect. Although close to all shopping facilities it feels like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of city life with rabbits, monkeys and Impala roaming the perfectly manicured gardens.

The spa is an experience of extreme indulgence. Personnel are professional and very competent. The sounds of guinifowl and other birdlife adding to your experience of total relaxation.

The accomodation was very good. The only area where I can fault them (if I really have to) is the sitting area in the room which was a bit cramped. However, the seeting on the porch outside more than compensated for this! I also wonder why you would want to use the seeting inside the room when you have the option to enjoy the beautiful gardens outside.

I cannoy fault them on their breakfast and dinner. Everything we had was very tasteful and beautifully presented.

The staff at both the hotel and spa are trained, professional, helpful and very friendly.

I higly recommend Isiphiwo and will definately visit them again. This Hotel and spa can very easily become a regular retreat for me. If you need total rest and relaxation Isiphiwo is the place to be.

I attended an evening event (a friend's birthday party) and the venue was at Isiphiwo Botique hotel! Everything worked like clockwork! The food was tasty, served on time, the serving staff was visible and the venue was beautifully dressed up!

Just spent a perfect week at Isiphiwo Guest Lodge with my colleagues for a strategic retreat. It was way over our expectations!! The place is absolutely wonderful, with nature and wild animals all around you. The luxury rooms and the villa (didn't see the standard) are of a good size with full size bath, two sinks and a separate huge shower. There is a desk to work, king bed and a small sofa where you can rest.

Being in a strategic retreat, our schedule of meetings and workshops was very tight, but the service was always top, coffee breaks were nearly a full meal as they were providing delicious fruits, food and snacks.

Talking about food, it was the surprise of the week. I had 15 meals at the lodge during the week, and all of them were excellent. Absolutely nothing to complain! We also had the chance to visit the spa which is huge and very nice. There are two pools (one at the main guesthouse and one at the spa), but even if the sun was there, the water was still at winter temperature!

Overall, it's a wonderful place staffed with amazing people. If you are looking at this place for a wedding, a conference or even a romantic gateway, do not hesitate. You won't find a better place in the area at a reasonable price.

This is definitely not a four or five star Boutique Hotel! The accommodation was shocking - no hot water in the shower, thin/flat pillows, no extra blankets, no hairdryer, no air-con and not much room to swing a cat! Will not be returning.

This place is quite stunning but I am not sure if they understand what customer service is. We went for a hald day Spa this weekend, the 4 of us all choose the Voyager package but I was dissapointed to learn that we all did not get the same experience. We arrived early, and had coffee by the Patio. We were each given personal lockers for our belongings where we all changed into our robes. After this we were invited into the Sauna/Jacuzzi were we spent 30 minutes. After that we were invited for our treatments were we all went in pairs. We had a facial, mobilisation, foot and back massage. my hands never got massaged which was quite odd for me, when I asked the misuse she told me this was not part of the package. I found this quite odd as I had been to other Spas where you would actually get a proper full body massage. None the less I made peace with this and proceeded to the reception area where our misuse offered to show us the products they sell and that would be great for our skin. She showed me some products called Esse and when I asked her where else can get this and she told me she had no idea as this was a Spa product. I feel if you will try sell me something also let me know when I will get it in future you cant sell something and not know where I can get it locally. I didnt buy anything. My friends and I procedeed to the change rooms again to get changed for lunch. As we were discussing our treatments I learned that all my friends actually had their hands massaged and I was the only one who never hot this, I went and enquired with the reception lady who told she would enquire with the ladies that gave us the treatments. I was told that we all got the same treatments, Which was not the case. She later sent the Spa manager who explained that 3 of my friends where just 'lucky' to have their hands massaged as this is not included in the Voyager package. I explained to her about offering clients the same standard service to avoid such situations and she just didnt not understand what this meant. All I was told was that they have the best beauty therapist and not once did we get an apology for their inconsistance in service. I am quiet dissappointed in the level of service at Isiphiwo. My body is actually sore than it was before I went for the massage. I have no deisire of going to this place again. We had a nice light lunch which was a wrap and a coleslwa salad.

As a group of mature ladies who save up each year for an annual visit to a spa, our experie was disappointing to say the least. We arrived on time at 8 but it took a while for the coffee to be ready (this after spending time filling in the necessary forms). Our first group of ladies were taken for their treatment, whilst the others waited in the jacuzzi and sauna room. Once it was nearly time for our treatments, we we asked to wait. We waited on the deck where we had our coffee earlier, only to be told to move because there was a treatment room underneath. Treatments for the body scrub and wrap then ensued, but at no time was I asked my name, so do not know why I had bothered to fill in all the personal information earlier on. This was followed by an invigorating shower and rose petal bath, but being two ladies, we obviously didn't want to climb in a shower or bath together. My friend chose the shower, which she said was just the same as at home. The bath was beautifully fragrant but could have had the shower first.

We were as a group asked to wait by the pool as lunch was about 10 minutes away. We waited for about half an hour and our pre ordered lunch was finally ready. Drinks were ready to be ordered, but due to a very limited drinks menu (wine, cider and beers) we went to our cars to get our own drinks. The beef stir fry (ordered by three ladies) was inedible, the meat been some sort of stewing beef (confirmed by one of the ladies who is a chef). The wraps were good. Complaints were made, but the manager was not there, so not much could be done. We listed our complaints in writing at this stage.

More waiting (but not allowed back into the sauna and jacuzzi room) then we thoroughly enjoyed our full body massage. The other ladies had in the meantime gone up to their rooms.

On arrival at our rooms, three were overlooking the roof of the restaurant, and our room was small, with a shower and toilet (no towel rail, towels lying on top of toilet). Only one bed lamp although two beds. Beds were comfortable, room was clean.

Supper time, we had again pre ordered on the Wednesday prior to our arrival. We were given complimentary wine, due to our experience at the spa. Meals were good, but unfortunately for some of the ladies who had preordered a particular dessert, it was not available.

Had a good nights sleep, and a good breakfast. The reception apologized for our experience, and all drinks ordered were on the house.

Maybe if we had been in the luxury suites, I could have experienced the apparent five star rating, but I would not say that any bit of our experience was five star.

We will definitely not be choosing this spa for our long awaited pamper at the end of next year.

We recently stayed at this establishment for 7 nights as we were attending a wedding. We had booked a luxury room which included a mini bar, large bath and air conditioning. The room rate included the mini bar which was topped up everyday. We received two baskets of fruits while we were there. We arrived after a long flight from Melbourne and were warmly greeted by the lady of the house who wanted to know if we wanted something to eat. Breakfast was included in the price and it was a full cooked breakfast with fresh fruit and lots of tea and coffee. Staff were very helpful. We had no trouble getting a tour booked for a game park tour. I would certainly recomend the massages they have to offer as this is very relaxing after a long flight. The food at the wedding was lovely. Meals are available but need to book by lunchtime.

This is always my first choice to stay. I think this is an ideal break-away place for a weekend or business. The food is of 5 star quality. The venue is in a nice tranquil surrounding. You can walk up in the mountain or go to the Spa for a relaxing afternoon.

"Most rooms are luxurious as you will see on the website so opt for those rather than the four rooms to the left of the reception which are not nearly as spacious or private and has no airconditioning. You don't see these rooms on their website though."
