This is the second time we have stayed at MacGregors. The first time was in the honeymoon room which was very luxurious. This time we went as a family with a small baby. We stayed in a lovely large room which had not only space for a camp cot but also had a fridge, stove, table etc which made dealing with a baby so much easier. Not to mention the friendly excelent service we received from the management and staff. I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful gest house.

MacGregors is very well located but unfortunately the guesthouse has a few cons:Parking is very confusing as it is only a driveway and no dedicated parking bays we had to stop very thoughtfully not to block anyone in.The Rooms: There is only SABC and Mnet, and not a choice of DStv as advertised, the room we were in had no connection to the Wi-Fi and the deal breaker for me was that the room has no fridge for own drinks.The Breakfast: There is a choice of 2 common cereal types followed by only Brown Bread t toast along with only one type of jam to accompany. There is no choice of breakfast or amount and therefore we were only given 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon each and for me this was not enough, not worth the amount payed for a place with breakfast included.Service: We were kindly welcomed but with the check out, there was nobody to find and eventually the chef that prepared the breakfast came to pick up our key at reception.Overall: Very nice garden and clean facilities but unfortunately a bit outdated and not at all worth the price payed for a one night stay.…

Only problem with the property is that you need to ask which facilities are available for guest use - won't be explained. Otherwise, perfect relaxation in the heart of Pretoria. A truly beautiful house, and the cat (Mielie) is a dream.
