Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Excellent host who was very helpful and accommodating with all the date changes. Rooms were big and bed was comfortable and met all the requirements of my stay. Some shampoo in the room would have helped but maybe I was too tired to find it. A real life saver during the lockdown.

I can highly recommend this guest house. The Host and staff is very friendly and helpful. Even the family pets come to greet, which makes it feel like home.
Excellent location to use Uber and Gautrain to get around. I have been using this establishment for 10 years and will return as often as I can.

The owner went out of her way to accommodate us. We arrived late in the evening, she assisted us yo get settled in. Prepared our breakfast takeaway as we had to leave by 6am each day. Simple and comfortable accommodation .

This place was disappointing. The rooms were pleasant enough; decor was nice. The communal areas (dining room etc) were very poor, sparse and completely without aesthetic appeal or any air of appeal. It was functional, not inviting. Bedding and towels needed a thorough clean or replacement. See pictures. Also housekeeping hustled for money. Not cool. Unpleasant.

It has been almost two months since I stayed at the Wardrobe Guesthouse and upon stumbling upon Tripadvisor I have decided to give credit where it is deserved, at least a bit.
On a recent business trip to Johannesburg I decided to stay over in Pretoria to catch up with friends from varsity days. A friend advised me about the Wardrobe Guesthouse and since it was close-by I booked online. With confirmation Marike accommodated me by reserving me dinner (which was delicious stuffed chicken breast) and arranging for early breakfast which I missed (due to a wild night out). Beautiful room and apparently all imported furniture/decor from Morocco! Perfect open-plan layout, very clean, no odour, no noise and very private. The rest of the house boasts with cute souvenirs and decor from Morocco too - which recalled great memories from a previous trip to Casablanca. Not only did Marike surprise me with coffee and rusks (breakfast on the go) but also booked a Rixi taxi on my behalf to the local Gautrain station. I didn't get to enjoy anything else at the guesthouse but it was great for the night! Marike seems to be a perfect (passionate and funny!) host and I would definitely recommend her guesthouse.

Just spent a night @ The Wardrobe which is decorated with Moroccan flair. We were put into the honeymoon suite, which boasted a spa-bath and shower, comfortable bed and lovely Moroccan fittings and furnishings. It's switches, tyape and walls etc are all skew, adding to the Moroccan authenticity. The gardens are large and nice, if a little unkempt. That didnt worry us though - it adds to the relaxed feel of the place. Marike (the owner) was very pleasant and hospitable, offering coffee on arrival. The breakfast is served at a large guest table in another 'authentic' Moroccan-decorated room, and the food was superb! The Wardrobe felt like 'home away from home' - not too smart or formal, just casual and relaxed. The room next to ours looked very small and not so nice, but we looked at some of the other rooms near the dining room which are also very nicely furnished and are quite large. We would love to revist The Wardrobe again - It's good value and close to lots of good restaurants, whilst it's setting is in a very quiet part of Brooklyn.

What a lovely guest house in the Brooklyn area, one would not believe that you are actually in a city. We felt like we were outside the city buzz. The rooms are neat and tidy, with attention to detail. Bathroom are luxurious, with a spa bath. We were welcomed with coffee on arrival, and a chocolate on the bed.
Breakfast the next morning was amazing. Presentation was superb.
We were most impressed with this place. Very warm and friendly, and a superb environment. It had a 'feeling' that was really nice, and I have no hesitation whatsoever in fully recommending the place to others.
The staff went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Thanx The Wardrobe Team, for making our stay a memorable one, you will certainly see us again in the future.

Pretoria is an excellent option for staying if you don't want to get into the crowded Johsnnesburg. Just 40 min from the airport, you'll find this excellent place, managed by its owners. Great breakfast, comfortable beds, smelling of lavander. Marica and her team are there to help you in wathever you may need.

Was overall a pleasant stay. Didn't like the fact that the bathroom was not separated from the bedroom. Otherwise it is a lovely part of Pretoria to stay in with all its tree lined streets. Very peaceful
