I frequent at this hotel on my business trips, between 5 to 10 days a month. The hotel has a great location to highways and restaurants. Ideal for business trips with boardrooms and a proper foyer resturant. Renovations are underway since mid 2024 and the noise levels continue till 22:30 at night. Boardrooms cannot be used due to the noise levels. No discounts on offer for the discomfort, in actual fact, the rates escalated between 25% and 33% since 2023. Newly renovated rooms are better in some ways, the old TV's are still there with their faulty DSTV channels but pose a new problem, the beds are sliding on the new floors that were installed, making for a very uneasy sit-up in bed to watch TV.

Staff very friendly and stay generally satisfactory, room clean and neat. Some issues with room such as leaking shower, loose toilet seat and some TV channels not properly tuned in. Restaurant service painfully slow and items left off meal orders. Note no plugs next to the bed!

This my home away from home. Returning after more than 4 years, I was treated like royalty. Really a special team that runs this hotel. Many friendly faces and kind gestures from the time I arrived until I left. The renovated room is fresh, modern and very comfortable. City Lodge breakfast is legendary, and Katlegho served me a perfect medium rare rib eye steak for supper.

The waiting staff were friendly. Reception staff were not always present and left the area unattended at times. Reception and kitchen staff forget about orders that are placed in advanced for breakfast and lunch. The cleaning staff do not remove plates and other cutlery utensils that were used in previous days from the rooms. Fridges are not available in all rooms and when you enquire it becomes a slight challenge to request. Due to loadshedding there will be days where the bath water is cold. Not all TV channels display I have had to request the additional channels to be added, if you don't ask you do not know. The dinner menu is not exactly enticing and says stay for dinner. Staff are not fully attentive I suggest management and staff undergo a customer and job satisfaction refresher training. My order placed (written) the previous afternoon for lunch and breakfast for the next morning was not captured by reception into the system I left early hours without breakfast, luckily caught breakfast at the airports slow lounge. I will not visit City Lodge Lynnwood again and will not be making any recommendations either.

The manager is extremely unhelpful. When asked for an extra pillow it was not company policy. When asked about wifi which was advertised as included the answer from reception was only 1 voucher per room she did not know the quantity and could not help with with the password so we went on our own hotspot. We payed for a 30 meter square room but at reception was told that all rooms are 20 square meters and that the difference is the balcony!

This has become my favourite City lodge hotel, the location is quiet and peaceful, the staff is just as professional and always willing to help.
The rooms are very spacious and the bed and pillows are very comfortable.

The standard of City Lodge its getting worst every time i visit .It use to be my favorite place but not anymore. I am glad i checked myself for 2 nights because if i checked in for longer i would have felt so desperate. I move to another hotel nearby. Missing items in the room, no complimentary water. Services are too slow. Food is basic too expensive for the price.

Checkin procedure was slow, room was cold and it took a while to get the a/c heater to perform.
Room service/restaurant menu lacks variety and dietary options, the only saving grace is that there are eating out options within the shopping complex.
Had to turn the heater off last night as it was noisy, consequently the room was cold this morning, no instructions for the remote suggest you just keep pressing the buttons till something happens.
the shower cubical leaked water over the bathroom floor.
bedside light, the bulb had blown and needed replacing, took one from elsewhere to fix the problem. No phone in the room to call anyone. (part of covid policy?)
Will leave the bulb on display so hopefully ....
this place could be a really good hotel, it just requires its management to show some interest.
Think I'll eat breakfast out.

Really comfortable room in a well situated hotel with plenty to do. Highly recommended for business or pleasure trips. The staff were really attentive and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and productive as possible. Lovely breakfasts, too.

I have not been to the hotel in many years. I like the location as it is close to restaurants and major shopping centers. Not to mention easy access to getting on and off the highway. Unfortunately COVID was not kind to the hotel. The room we received had water damage outside the door and the wall and carpet had mold on it. We tried to stay for a few hours, but when we found hair in the bath, my wife decided it is either a different hotel or a different room. We went downstairs and informed the desk and they didn’t flinch to change our room. I think they get this often. The second room was marginally better, but also not very clean.
I can see they are painting and replacing floors. But, it really was not a good experience for us. It actually was a major detractor from our couples weekend away to the city. Next time we will choose a different hotel.
