Its rare that we can have time to ourselves and when we usually do it is still spent at home, so thought I would spoil her a bit with a nice evening away from home. The deluxe suite we stayed in was amazing, my wife really enjoyed the bath and the views from the little balcony we had was nothing short of breathtaking, we will always be using this spot as our little get away going forward. Excellent value for money too, with what you receive.

The Panorama Guest House is a pleasant place to stay.
I chose it because of it's location onto the Newlands Forest Reserve and was pleased that there was a back gate and access to the forest for me to go for runs.
It is high up on the mountain, so the view of the sunrise over the Heldeberg Mountains is spectacular. Being on the mountain does mean that parking is a challenge, but that's okay.
Breakfast times are from 8 - 10 am, which was after I'd left for work, but I did have a delicious, packed breakfast made for me - thank you.

It's not called the Panorama Guest House for nothing - the views over Cape Town and the Hottentots Holland mountains in the background are stunning! In addition, our room was spacious and the location convenient for getting into town, going to the beaches and visiting Kirstenbosch (an essential part of any trip to Cape Town). The staff were excellent - extremely accommodating and friendly and they made us feel at home. The guesthouse has a very relaxed feel with plenty of space to relax and unwind at the end of the day. An added bonus is that there is easy access to Newlands Forest through a back gate. We went for an early morning walk with one of the staff members and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Host was friendly
Parking is limited and outside
Driveway pavinf bricks are covered with algae - very slippery and can cause slipping
Upon entering the guesthouse there was a sweet tobacco smell in the house (The host is vaping in the house) eventhough there are 'no-smoking' signs in the rooms.
Rooms are smelling of mould as the house is on the Eastern side of the mountain. I recommend that the host opens the windows prior to the guests arriving to ensure fresh smell
I would also recommend the host does not smoke in the house

Stove top in the kitchen was not clean

No off-street parking available. Extremely steep driveway. Very limited stock in honesty bar. Wi-Fi unusable. DSTV not working. Netflix not working due to Wi-Fi. Tiny beds. Bathroom tatty. No Aircon. Breakfast took too long (over 30 mins) to arrive so was forced to leave before it was served.

The place was the best place we could have chosen. We traveled for the Cape Town Cycle Tour and it was conveniently located for everything we wanted to do. I would recommend this place on any day. The view is absolutely amazing!

Our room was clean and bed comfortable. Unfortunately not en suite but bathroom just outside our room. We did not realise how steep the site was and had to angle park our car next to the gate on the road and had a steep climb to the entrance and to our room. This meant when we departed for the airport 3 days later we had to manage our luggage down the steep slope. We are in our middle seventies.

From our arrival to our departure, all our needs and more were met. The room was huge & well appointed with everything that a traveler could ask for. the large double sliding windows open up for a stunning view over the pool & Cape Town. Breakfasts were as big or small as you want & very tasty. The honesty bar saved us on a miserable, rainy day when we stayed in to watch Netflix. Will definitely be back!

Superb accommodation and Host, easy going and relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed a walk in the Newlands Forest. The Guest house had a gate from the property leading to the forest.
The views from the room are stunning and overlooks just about the whole of CT. It is nice and central and close to the airport and amenities.
There was no parking on the premises only outside and the driveway is a bit steep, but this did not matter as I did not have a car and the driveway is not long.

Good: The staff were extremely helpful and helped us wherever they could.
BAD: The location is not easy for elderly guests due to the steep terrain. The toilet cistern in our small shower room did not work properly for all the 5 days. The linen was threadbare on the bed. Loadshedding is only catered for with rechargeable bedside globes. TV is only Netflix's. The cupboard door had a loose hinge. The bins were not emptied for the duration of our stay.
