Where to begin with this wonderful experience, the staff, food, and venue are so focused around making your day as perfect as you want it.

They put in such hard work and perfect every detail, to such an extent that there was not a single fault my wife, guests, and I could give.

Every aspect of their planning, costings, event management and timing has been refined and runs like a clock. They truely are such a classy yet humble establishment, with absolutely nothing to complain about.

The service of the very well dressed, spoken, and mannered staff is impeccable. Recieving the guests, helping the bridal parties stay on track and tending to their every need.

The venue itself is flawless and a spoil of beauty - it has wonderful facilities that are perfect in every way. The landscapes of the venue are elegant and calming, with green, well maintained gardens, manicured grass, and beautiful surrounding mountains and nature.

The background noise is natural, no cars, no highways, no disruptions. The sunsets are beautiful and shimmer off the pond adding more to the spoils of nature that Cradle Valley offers.

The food is fenominal and cannot be flawed, the chef's and kitchen staff take pride and care when preparing the meals, and it shows, from a premium class harvest table, to a perfect wedding buffet, followed by a breakfast not short of perfection! (Also, there sandwiches are amazing and put every other sandwich to shame).

The rooms are very good, private and comfortable. The bridal suite is the perfect dream come true for any bride and her bridesmaids, with cleanliness and beauty the main focus. The mancave (Cottage 2) with classy finshes and a waterfall noise in the background, making it perfect for the groom and his groomsmen the calm, classy, and relaxing start to an amazing wedding.

The chapel, is a clean, rustic, and extremely well built structure. Come rain or shine, the open sides are great for the beautiful views of the surrounding lands to be part of the ceremony. The extra touches of the name bridge and bell make it one of a kind and definitely make the first time you see your bride one you'll never forget.

The hall is beautiful and once again, incorporates the beauty of the venue through its large wooden doors, air conditioning for the heat and tower heaters for the cold.

Overall what a beautiful and perfect experience, never to be forgotten.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary weekend Getaway. The "brief" we gave on our booking to Jannel, was that they make it a memorable experience for us and we got exactly that and more. The staff was beyond amazing from Veronica who received us on Friday evening to Dinner, compliments to the chef and the dinner setup for our anniversary night was sterling.

Saturday morning we invited other 6 couples, our close friends to come and celebrate around the breakfast table with us and they were equally treated as esteemed guests. Much appreciation to China, who with her colleagues had to service the 14pax table. Shout out to our waiter on Sunday breakfast which we were glad to hear it (bkfast)was still available for us when we thought we had missed it and were already handing in keys for checkout. We definitely had a great time and are considering Cradle Valley for the parents anniversary getaway!!

We attended a gorgeous wedding at Cradle Valley and everything was just wonderful. What a beautiful venue to celebrate this occasion at. The staff and management are paying attention to the smallest of details. The food was delicious! The rooms had everything you needed with a super cozy bed.

Cannot recommend this venue enough!

I found the host helping us on the day to be unfriendly and unwilling to engage my partner when he was asking certain questions.

I think you guys should consider putting spikes on the roof or something to deter birds/ rats from making noice. The ceiling is made of what seemed like bamboo branches, which looks appealing but obviously is not sound proof. The roof is made of tin, so before we slept there were either birds or rats that made a lot of noise on the roof and it started again at 4am in the morning, very upsetting because our sleep was interrupted.

Additionally, the bathroom basin has no counter space so we had to put our toiletry bags on the floor.

I also did not get the room i picked online, why allow guest to book a room if you are going to redirect them to another room anyway?

Overall I don't think we got our money's worth, we couldn't even have breakfast because we left at 7am, however online its not made very clear or visible that if one wants breakfast at 7am (which is normal considering that people go to work during the week) they have to call ahead of time.

In general all is nice and tidy. But firstly Cradle Valley decided that the room that I chose when I made the booking was not good enough for us, and gave us another room! I was upset, but decided to go with what they decided. I was afterwards very sorry that I did not stick to room I booked. There is an outside shower in their choice for us which is unacceptable for us and my room choice had an inside shower as we prefer to shower at all times. So I will not recommend this place at all.

We staye at the lodge for a friends wedding. Beautiful wedding venue. Rooms were small, but comfy bed, and no hairdryer in the room. You could get one from reception though. No shower gel, and soap and shampoo not of a good quality. Reception was not inviting, and no smiles. Breakfast is served late, only after 8am!, We had advised that we had an early flight but they did not take this into account. So we had some coffee, and the staff were rude enough to hand us a bill for this, when we did not get to have the full breakfast that we paid for, and expected us to pay for this coffee , which was included in the accommodation price. Very unprofessional! We felt, as well as some other wedding guests, that we were just a number. No personal touch. Uber takes about 15 minutes to get to the lodge, so make sure you order one in advance if you are in a rush. Toasted sandwiches for lunch are ludicrously expensive, so make sure you ask for prices of things, before you are surprised with a bill!
We will not stay there again.

Great welcome, beautiful wedding venue with great food. Excellent staff and delicious breakfast. The room however was very small and expensive for what we got. Ugly metal hanging stand for clothes, no shelves or cupboard. No place at the basin to put anything at all. At least a shelf should be put up and the stand on which the basin stands made wider so you can put your toiletries, make up and toothbrush somewhere.

We were fortunate enough to host our daughter's wedding at Cradle Valley in November 2022 and was one of the most pleasant, organised events that we have ever experienced. The staff & management are exceptional in their commitment, assistance & expertise in providing excellent service & teamwork from date of booking to the day of the event. The venue & surroundings provide such a unique setting, from high-quality food & generous portions, service, accommodation & good value for money. The reliability, efficiency & personal touch & relationships formed was amazing & will always be remembered. Thank you to Rynard & team, each & everyone that we dealt with & that were part of our special day. We will be back, again & again!

As a wedding venue, it was lovely. The food and staff were also very good. My only fault is that the rooms were overpriced (by about R800) Very basic and clean but charged as a “captive audience’ - a number of us felt this way, which spoils the experience.

I chose this venue because of its verdant setting. The quality of the accommodation and hospitality was excellent. The drive to the venue was also stimulating. The placement of the rooms made it very easy for me - I wanted to be away from the main complex.

Answer from Wilme V
Good morning Thank you for your interest in Cradle Valley. Yes, we have a pool on the premises. We do not have a shuttle service available. But we can defnitly organize one for you. Always better to book at Lion and Rhino reserve, especially for a game drive. We look forward to hear from you soon. Kind regards The Cradle Valley Team

Dear Guest, Thank you for your question. Sorry, a bit new in doing things on Social Media and we had to wait for the link to answer questions. We do work with an outsourced Shuttle Service Company which you have to book with directly. We also have special rates with them. You are welcome to send us an email for additional information on the Shuttle Service Company. Hope this finds you well. Warm Regards, Cradle Valley Management Team
