Attended a wedding at this venue yesterday. What an amazing atmosphere at this venue. water features, grass grass and more grass, trees for days and this antique styles decor. Perfect for a wedding, or any celebrations. a garden wedding is possible at the venue. You will find yourself walking around admiring the beauty and thinking you are somewhere by the country side with much land upon land and landscape to die for.

I attended a wedding at Mt Usmabara in December and stayed a few nights at Usmabara Lodge with my family . The room was nice and modern and common area is great and clean. After our first two nights the owner kindly moved my family and I over to the honeymoon suite which was a much bigger room and bathroom. This was at no extra cost as the room was available. Now this is service and going the extra mile to help your guest and making them feel comfortable. the stay was excellent and the staff were friendly. Could have done with a little more variety for breakfast and maybe some muffins and scones but other than that the stay was great. I would recommend Usamabara Lodge and will surely visit again

We attended a wedding at usambara lodge in September 2016. The venue is on top of a hill and there is a great view of the town below. The venue is large and well decorated , the food and service was good.

Stayed here for one night. Lovely big rooms. King size beds (or 2 singles). Good quality sheeting and pillows towels etc. Decent size bathroom with power shower no bath. Bedroom has a small LCD tv on wall, one easy chair and a stool by dressing table. Basic tea & coffee facilities as in kettle and sachets no coffee machine for filter coffee. Wish South Africa would "get with it" like the hotels in the States that all have coffee pod type machines in the rooms. All rooms are non smoking but there are seating areas outside in the gardens. The grounds are very well kept and Usambara is also a wedding and conference venue. We had dinner there but unfortunately my "medium" fillet steak was cremated. Others had the chicken schnitzels which were good. Full Breakfast included in room rate was Ok. Would stay there again.

We stayed over at the lodge on a Friday evening, it was last minute but they accommodated us with ease. The staff was great, and friendly. The facilities were neat and tidy, however the rooms were without hair dryers (a norm in travel today). The restaurant closed at 8pm, which poses a problem for late night travellers, and the bar at 9pm. We had dinner on the road, and were allowed to take drinks from the bar to our room. Although they have a spa, there was no pool, or outside bar. For a stop over rest nights it is perfect. It lacks slightly as a holiday destination. But still worth a visit.

Judging by previous reviews this appeared to be the perfect place to prepare for our wedding which was held at Mt Usambara a mere 5 km away. My wife and step daughter checked into a normal room for the night prior to the wedding. They were then allowed to change to the honeymoon suite the next day. The staff were well aware of the occasion. My future wife at that stage, asked for some sandwiches or some sort of food to be sent to them for lunch while they were preparing themselves for the wedding. They were told this was not possible! So they had to go out to the local fast food place to arrange lunch for themselves. Bearing in mind this is the "Honeymoon suite" when we got back from the wedding now as man and wife, the room had not been cleaned since the morning, the beds not turned down,,,in fact nothing had been done to make this room any different from a local motel room! I cannot find myself ever recommending this place for couples making use of Mt Usambara for the ceremony.
