Perfect getaway for any occasion. Very friendly and professional staff! Everything was just smooth sailing, from the gate entrance to the reception area. The rooms are super clean, meals are just perfect and very filling. I am a happy customer indeed. planning on going back for my anniversary!
Lovely venue with a river on one side and mountains on the other, perfectly located near various wedding venues. We stayed for one night while attending a wedding nearby, and the hotel was very helpful in setting us up with a shuttle bus to and from the venue. Very friendly and quick check in, pleasant room with small porch to watch the river, and a good deep bath in the bathroom. Very comfortable for one night stay, and excellent buffet breakfast included in the price. Lovely and quiet destination, good value - painless check out.
The overall service by the staff was very good, from reception to the restaurant and bar service. Personnel were friendly and attentive.Breakfast buffet was excellent. The public areas were very nice but the rooms need a makeover, looks shabby. Wifi reception in rooms was non-existent. TV reception in room was bad. Rooms smelt of cigarette smoke even though they were non-smoking rooms
We booked a day at the spa with an overnight stay and it was such a nice getaway. The nature and surroundings were amazing and the treatments at the spa were so relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing.
Lodge is well located but not ideal for Family trip during winter as there isnt much for small kids to do. Swimming area looks lovely, in general the lodge is very dated, general maintenance is needed and furniture and fittings are quite old but the atmosphere in nature alongside a river is lovely and the food was good!!
Had a really good time at this place with my son, great breakfast, helpful stuff, very clean accommodation. My only issue was wifi in our room, even though we had great wifi at the restaurant and at the reception areas. Great value for money and will definitely be back!
What was initially planned to be an outing away for two, turned into an incredible family getaway, courtesy of the lovely service as offered at Glenburn Lodge, this father's day weekend. The lodge is situated in Muldersdrift, at a 17 mins drive from Lanseria airport and what a beautiful and majestic lodge this is. Once you off-ramp from the R374, there is a tarred road with speed humps with ample signage to help guide you to the lodge, reassuring that you're on the right track. Very safe, with a tight security in place from the entrance. Although, signage is enough, driving into the Lodge from the entrance, it does get somehow confusing from time to time, here and there but one does eventually make their way to the reception area. The weekend was set out as one for only my partner and I, however when we battled to organize a baby sitter for our 1 year and 8 months old son for the weekend, we had to make swift plans to bring him along. I made a call to the Lodge on the day to let them know of this latest change and the front desk personnel reassured us that all is well. After we checked into the hotel room, we were blown away by the majestic room size and baby cot which was swiftly arranged for our little one. We were assisted by a gentleman called Lovemore to check in. This arrangement, for a baby cot when it was initially not required, was really the cherry on top for us during our stay. The room had pretty much all the necessary items we needed - a working aircon, extra blankets for the chill, a bar fridge, coffee station and an Expresso machine, working telephone, a safe, 2 gowns and twin plug to mention about a few items. The hotel room came with a carpet all round, which was ideal for our little one who likes rolling and playing on the floor. The bathroom, was the showstopper with both a bathtub and shower, enabling us to bathe our little one with ease, a his and hers basin set, shower gels, extra towels, glasses to help conserve water, a pesticide and air freshener. Nothing to fault the lodge is definitely at this stage. From here on, it was really dirfcult to find faults with the place although the wifi at the lodge during our stay did not have the best of connections. Breakfast was a standard English breakfast although my partner did not compliment the breakfast that much and worried about variety and the food being cold. The lodge is very family friendly with table set-ups, ideal for large families. Lodge is wheel-chair friendly with ramps almost everywhere for easy movement. A large chess game, jungle gym, pools, picnic areas, scenic mini waterfall areas, lapas, the must see and walk across, hanging bridge which connects to the chapel on the other Glencove venue side and a spa is also on site. It also offers a camping 'tent' area and garden suites for visitors who are in need of that different experience from the hotel. After the first night, we decided to have a lengthy nap after breakfast and placed the 'do not disturb' sign at the door. After we woke and prepared to explore the recreational activities around the area (there is plenty to do, we visited the Bathong Rhino and lion nature reserve, located at a 12 mins drive away, around the lodge there are hot air balloons, hiking and cycling routes) in the afternoon, we had requested for the room to then be tidied up. Upon our return, the room was not cleaned and the sign was still by the door but that wasn't much of an issue as we had tried to pack up here and there to leave the room a bit decent. There is enough parking around the lodge, though without shade and there's quite a lot of stairs to go through especially for a 1st floor room. Apart from the breakfast food and limited good wifi connection around the lodge, we found this place a pleasant gem and surprisingly quite family friendly. The service we received all round was good with no concerns. We felt very safe and at peace the entire weekend and cannot wait to return. We recommend this place for a peaceful, child and family friendly environment that offers an away feel, close to nature i.e. the Zwartkops Mountain in the background, surrounded by the Crocodile and Blaauwbank Rivers, and not too far out from the city. …
A great stay, with cozy rooms and beautifully designed bathrooms. Even though Glenburn is not very far out from the city, it feels like a great escape to nature with the beautiful scenic surroundings. Their spa treatments are definitely recommended! Look forward to staying over again!!
Very homely, perfect room, perfect bathroom, perfect landscape, good customer service in the reception and restaurant, I selected the lodge because of high ratings online and i did not get disappointed.
I did not have to drive far to escape the city and got an experience that rejuvenated me feeling as though the place was waiting just for me. I experienced the beauty of nature complemented by efficient friendly staff. I felt safe walking by the river and sitting on a bench with a book listening to the sound of birds and a waterfall in the background. Words would fail me if I tried to explain how delicious the breakfast was. My extended family is sold on my proposal to have a family reunion at Glenburn this year.
