Our October Porsche Club Breakfast run was hosted at the picturesque Toadbury Hall Country Hotel. Catering to the needs of discerning Porsche enthusiasts and making sure they discover new places and obtain good value for money can sometimes be challenging. But finding a magnificent little gem conveniently located near Elandsdrift (which many seasoned Johburger’s did not seem to know about), makes everything worthwhile.
What makes Toadbury Hall so special is that it is nestled between enormous indigenous trees and lavish gardens overlooking the beautiful dams and gardens. This time of the year, everything was lush green, complemented with blooming roses and the smell of lavender.

From the first moment we met Noni, we knew we were in excellent hands. Her courteous, gracious and charming way of ensuring that she meets our expectations makes it an absolute pleasure to host such an event. The service was excellent, the food was really ample and tasty - meeting our expectations while remaining within the available budget. Noni Mothetho and Projects Operations Manager Gary Brown personally attended the event to make sure it met with our specifications, and confirm our guests were happy.

If you want five-star service in a beautiful setting, Toadbury Hall is highly recommended, whether it is to lunch or picnic or hosting that special event. We cannot wait to return to experience the tranquil but stylish experience of Toadbury Hall.

The Team
Yolande,Nyiko,Helen and Dudu..What a team! I booked Toadbury Hall for my sisters bridal shower luncheon. We received such good service that I would be willing to book again.

Communication

I called and my sent the event details via email.Yolande communicated that due to our number, our meals may not come out at the same time. I appreciated this communication because I was able to plan.I requested the menu in order for the guests to pre-select their meals and send them to the restaurant.Yolande granted my request. On the day of the event our meals came out at the same time.

The Day of the Event

On the day of the event, when I arrived the table setup was already done and they went an extra mile by placing beautiful fresh flowers on the table.Helen and Dudu were our waitresses and their service was excellent. Our table was cleared promptly and our drinks topped up regularly.

The Venue

Toadbury is beautiful with lush green gardens,a beautiful chapel and a peacock 🦚..We did not hire a photographer and still got beautiful pictures.I saw the picnic setup that they had done for other guest and it’s on my on my to do list.

The food

For starters, the salmon was a firm favourite
For mains, theMorrocan chicken breast and pork belly were hit amongst the guests.
For dessert ,the malva pudding won the dessert.

I will definitely book another event here.

We went to try the picnic experience for something different and were not disappointed. It's not the cheapest at 400 R per head but I think worth it. We had a spot by one of the small lakes and table was all set out with glasses etc. The picnic comes with a bottle of wine and the selection was great with salads meat cheeses and deserts. They allocate 3 hours and that is ideal. Also the food comes in containers that allow you to take home with you what you don't eat. Certainly different and very relaxing

The facility is NOT wheelchair friendly. To get into the chapel, you need to walk up two steps and then down a step to get to the ramp that leads up to the chapel. To get to the Boma, the wheelchair needs to be pushed over grass. To get to the disabled toilet at the office block, the wheelchair needs to be pushed over grass.
The food is NOT up to 5-star standards. What was supposed to be fillet was not. The mixed mediterranean vegetables was mostly onions. The salad was dismal.
The fittings in the room I saw were shabby and cheap looking. The security chain on the door of the room I saw was broken.
There was no Wi-Fi.
There was continual power problems.

I booked a special birthday dinner for my wife at the Bijou restaurant. I made the booking via phone 4 days before my wife's birthday. The booking was confirmed by Charlotte and I told her it was a special occasion. I arrived at the booked time only to be told at the main gate by security that the hotel and restaurant is closed. I did not receive any notification from Toadbury that they could not honor my booking. After reading some of the nice reviews I was really looking forward to surprise my wife with a romantic dinner. I don't think I will disappoint my wife again with Toadbury Hall.
Also to add to this, I first made the booking inquiry via their website where I did not receive any response. I guess a phone conversation was not good enough either.

What a wonder stay. Attended a family wedding. On arrival we were immediately upgraded to an Executive Suite.
Had a fantastic meal at the Bijou restaurant that evening.
Breakfast is served until 11 each day.
The hotel arranged for airport transfers (Lanseria) at a nominal fee.

Overall a fantastic stay!

Little attention paid to the needs of guests with mobility problems. Paths would just end and I had to be pushed over thick grass to wherever I needed to be.
There was a ramp into the wedding chapel, but I had to go up one step and down another to get to it!

True 5 Star experience from the Security gate to the reception and restaurant staff. We had last minute dinner requests which were dealt with swiftly with hesitation. The food is of 5 Star quality. Met the executive chef Thapelo at breakfast was gifted with a picnic for 2 which was exceptional. Very beautiful place. Thank you all *special mention to Lucky our waiter for making my proposal a very memorable one.

I was looking for quaint place to spend my birthday and found this gem. Beautiful grounds, lovely staff. Service was a little slow and food could have been better for the price, but over all I would come visit, again and again.
