On Sunday 21st March I stayed at the Belvedere Estate as part of a bridal party, the marriage taking place at the nearby Forest Walk venue. My stay has to be one of the worst I have ever had to endure. 1) Facilities were dirty and badly maintained. 2) Arrangements were made to use the outside entertainment area upon our return from the wedding reception. When we returned we found no staff at all other than the gate security. We had requested for the bar to be open and ice and glasses to be made available, none of this had been arranged. 3) The room my Wife and I occupied was grubby to say the least. There were not enough towels, no coffee and there was one cup. When we attempted to use the shower it was totally defective, water shot through the top of the rose and hit the ceiling. There was also no hot water. The tv set did not work at all. 4) The food at breakfast was cold to Lukewarm. 5) There was no management evident at all. At least there should be an onsite manager who should greet visitors and ask them if all is ok, there was NOTHING My Wife and I do a fair bit of travelling and we share experiences with other retired people. Apart from never using this establishment again, we will have no hesitation in giving a full revue to our friends and others we meet. A SHOCKING EXPERIENCE.…
Stayed here for 1 night before going to Kruger. The environment has a peaceful feel. The room is clean and spacious and has a fireplace which is handy as it was pretty cold at night. Wifi is only available near the restaurant. Food was decent. Service of staff was great. They were all very friendly and made you feel welcomed and at home.
Loved this place! Shared a meal for the last time with our safari group - we were late arriving but the food was great! Beautiful decor! Staff were excellent and nothing too much trouble. Fantastic vege garden which supplied a good variety for dinner
Wonderful place to stay . Clean, well maintained and very safe . Able to book tours right from the reception . Staff and managers fabulous . Make you feel at home . The food was really good . Able to drink the water from the hotel .
My wife and I stayed a total of 4 nights at the Belvedere on our stay in SA. We loved the large spacious and sunny grounds, the lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts and evening dinners. The staff without exception are friendly and helpful and added significantly to our trip. The estate is sited in close proximity to the air port and for amenity looks much better than the large multi storey motels in the jberg CBD that appear to have from my observations quite unsafe neighbourhood. We will be back.
