Reading past reviews, it is obvious this guesthouse is most often frequented by those on a G Adventures tour ... I was also there with G Adventures. This is definitely a budget guesthouse - good for a no-frills, quick stay at the end of a...More
I have stayed here several times and would not consider staying anywhere else. Ever. Suki's home is exactly that. A home. She, and her family, make you feel so welcome and comfortable and the rooms are big, clean and nicely decorated. You don't spend much...More
As with many of the other reviews I have seen, we stayed at this guest house as a family as part of a G Adventures tour. We weren't disappointed! This place had a family feel that was like any other place we have ever stayed....More
This place is a home away from home. Warmly welcomed by Suki on our arrival. Room we got was nice and large enough with a microwave and sink. Bed comes with a bed warmer that we did not realised until the next day. It was...More
A short, 10 min hop away from the airport, one would think that the Malikana Guesthouse would be cold, plain and placid. I would classify this more as a home stay, given that Aunty Suki took really good care of us while we stayed there...More

Hi, I took the National Geographic G adventures trip in September and I totally enjoyed it. Being a small group, you get to see so much and meet different people. My group had people from all over Europe and even Australia. The trip is well organized and you don't need to worry about food or where to eat. You are brought everywhere and you have food suggestions. I got to the Malikana Guest House earlier than others on the tour, since they went to Cape Town first. I asked the host at Malikana Guest house if she could arrange a half day tour before the others arrived, and she arrange a tour for me to the Apartheid Museum, Mandela's House, and other places. I also had time after the trip and before my flight, and arranged a second tour through Malikana Guest House. These tours were great and you will be picked up at Malikana. I believe the guide's name was Thomas, and he provided so much insight into the culture and the areas during the apartheid time. Enjoy your trip!
