The check in process is very slow and the staff member, Marvin who is on duty is arrogant and not for to receive guests. He without asking allocated me into a smoking room and had a long story afterwards that I should’ve told him I don’t smoke. As a rewards member I expect beter service.

Tired rooms, typical airport hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Buffet food was very good quality, although buffet (all you can eat) is not our favourite way to dine. Check out and check in was easy and 2 minutes away from the terminal.

An absolutely fantastic hotel....my family loved it....truly an amazing stay from the staff to everything about the hotel. Staff was friendly and kind, room were clean and tidy, pool area very family friendly, no problems with our stay. Would definitely return there.

The great thing is that there is a free 24 hour shuttle bus from the airport arrivals. You catch it from behind the Intercontinental. Very easy to locate. The hotel itself appears very old and could do with an update however the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The plumbing was very noisy in surrounding rooms and my bathroom taps took awhile for the water to come out. The breakfast buffet was excellent. All in all, not bad for an overnighter.

It's like stepping into a time machine and travelling back to the 90s. Maybe that's a little harsh, more like the early 2000s. But come prepared with everything you will need. The rooms do not come with USB charging ports or any such luxuries. Should you require an adapter the concierge will tell you that they have run out. The rooms are also very noisy and offer no sound insulation from the passageways, and if you are unfortunate enough to get a room within 100m of reception just know you'll be disrupted the whole night. The food is alright though.

Southern Sun O.R Tambo International Airport is a lovely hotel. The rooms are pretty spacious, even though it looks small. I didn't really prefer the passage hallway, it felt a bit musty, but don't worry, the bedrooms are really fresh and clean. The position in Johannesburg is great, as it is near the airport. It's great for a one or two night stay if you're going for a connection flight. But anyway is good. They have free shuttle service that works up and down to the airport and back. I stayed in a double bedroom. It included a mirror, TV, free WiFi, desk, kettle, sachets, safe, A/C, storage and more. If you're staying long, they do your laundry for you, with a price. There's bed in breakfast from certain times and dinner on Ground Floor. The bathrooms are really clean. One of the cleanest I would find in any hotel. Warm water is provided. The hotel has a generator, so there's no laodshedding to worry about. The atmosphere on ground floor is beautiful and the architecture is superb! I really enjoyed it and hope you will too! :D FMP…

Excellent location for stopover and free airport shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes. The staff are friendly and efficient and provide help as needed. British Airways have lost all our luggage and the hospitality at this hotel exceeded out expectations by being helpful and providing the essentials were were missing. The restaurant is buffet service and the food is plentiful and tasty.

We stayed for just one night, just for convenience in-between flights. I would 100% stay again. All the staff are a credit to the hotel, thank you all so much. The lovely Anna on the egg station, Chris our evening waiter & Shaun our lunch waiter were amazing. All staff were amazing, friendly, attentive & genuinely pleased to assist. We had dinner buffet, lunch and breakfast and the food was really niceandatavery reasonable price. The shuttle bus to and from the airport is very efficient. I only have one little negative that we did get a verbal apology for is that we requested a non-smoking room. This was on our confirmation & the room allocated clearly was not.
