Great place close to the airport but in a quiet neighborhood. The employees were so nice, friendly, and let us stow our bags while we were on a tour! The room easily accommodated our family of four. Breakfast was wonderful and very inexpensive . Would stay there again!

First I was a little disappointed in the organization of airport pickup as I had left all detail with the lodge, i provided all flight details and EVERYTHING to detail so for once my airport pickup etc wouldn’t be a huge waste of time. I had to call from the airport and wait quite some time outside in the cold just to make sure. I know this is not a big deal especially in the whole time that our businesses go through but even a piece of Capulana cloth would’ve made the car look nicer than the coming down leather particles. Anyway, I only later found out that the driver was responsible for pretty much everything going on in and around the lodge so I couldn’t be that mad.
Justus, the Driver that became the man for everything during the pandemic is the heart of the lodge and although he was on this own, everything worked out fine! The room was the first ever room around the airport area that was remotely nice with its own spacious and pretty bathroom, smart TV with Netflix, fan, storage space and tea & coffee station. Outside there was even a pool and little climbing area for kids. It was quite pretty and remote and I think it was in a nice area as well, Can’t tell which as I merely stayed for one night. Wifi was very Good and fast, reached well into my room although I wouldn’t know if it reaches further than room 2. The Shower was hot and with good water pressure. I’d also like to notice that the Tea kettle was amazingly shiny and new!!!! I feel that these are details worth mentioning, as you’d think people wouldn’t notice. The clothing/ luggage area was spacious although not in a closed closet which didn’t necessarily affect me but it might affect you. The room was nicely decorated and cleaned. It is quite small if you’re traveling as a couple that might both like their space but as a solo overnight stay it was great. The room was very cold and even with all the blankets i was actually shivering and the heater that was in the room didn’t work, but i didn’t bother asking.
One thing I didn’t quite understand why there was breakfast offered but no dinner due to COVID? Not sure how that correlates but for people like me, that don’t have the Food delivery Apps etc etc, it would be helpful to just have some menus at the reception and to place the orders from there, instead of having to download, register, confirm and pay on some platform that completely rips off restaurants anyway. Anyway. Just an idea. I’ll definitely come back when having a stop over because around the airport, it’s my best experience so far, which says a lot. Hopefully, next time will be great too!

The accommodation and staff are really wonderful.
We landed late at OR Tambo airport, and the Aerotropolis driver that we had requested was already waiting in the designated parking area when we arrived. He was efficient, friendly and very helpful. The accommodation is located very close to the airport in a secure, quiet street with a beautiful pool/garden area. Our room and bed were very comfortable and clean... we had a great nights sleep!
The reception staff were also really friendly and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable.
I will definitely stay here again on my next stopover.

My family and I were at Aerotropolis in March 2020, and we were very well received by Wayne, who made us feel like we were at our home. Super attentive, he was always on hand to assist us, one of the 7 nights we spent at the Wayne hotel prepared a delicious African barbecue. I recommend it for family travelers, they are sure to be very welcome at Aerotropolis Guest Lodge.
We have already agreed that on our next trip to South Africa Wayne will take us to Safaris in something different prepared for us.

I’ve been to Aerotropolis for almost 6 days and I could not had a better experience! The crew is very kind, they helped everybody with everything, including great meals and even prepared a barbecue for all the guests!! All the structure is very comfortable to enjoy and rest.
An special thanks for the hotel that accommodated very well me and more tourists during the lockdown and all it’s difficulties. I hope I can comeback soon to Aerotropolis and do all the bushes visits they offer!!

This is by far the most unprofessional and worst lodge that I have dealt with. I booked 9 rooms last year and made a deposit of 50% to secure the booking last year, but as you all know Covid-19 struck so we were not able to travel. So I sent an email asking for a refund which Wayne gave me a reply that they were having a difficult time. I do understand that the lodge is having a hard time, but after 24 April 2020 the owner has not replied to any of my emails! I have tried to call them as well but they do not pick up... So they have just taken my money and are ignoring me! At least give me a reply! I am not impressed.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night (4 Jan) before heading off to Kruger. The Aerotropolis do exactly what they say on the tin and we have no complaints or concerns.
We were picked up promptly from OR Tambo by a delightful chap, Justice, who chatted to us all the way to the guest house. Check-in was seamless and a brief given on local amenities.
The room we had was clean and tidy and breakfast was fine.
They even did some printing for me, which was a blessing.
If you're overnighting in Jo'burg and need somewhere convenient for the airport, you won't go wrong stopping at the Aerotropolis

Wow! I was so impressed with Aerotropolis, from the late-night shuttle service at the airport, to the tired but welcoming host when we arrived, to the nicely appointed rooms...quiet at night with only the very occasional fly-over noise...and then in the morning to discover a lovely green oasis: the plants, the pool, the play area for kids. AND, a sumptuous breakfast included in the price. (Please tip the cook! She deserves it!) My only recommendation is for the owner to consider installing air conditioning units. The windows in the rooms cannot keep it cool enough so it is warm warm in summer! It's a more budget-conscious spot, but absolute value for price. (And it was very booked up with guests, so don't wait until just before you arrive to book.)

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
We were planning to stay here for 1 night only, but left and found a new hotel. The room looked clean but had broken furniture full of dust and hairs still in the bathroom. The wifi wasn’t working at all. The garden was hardley kept decent. The staff was also very unfriendly and didn’t feel like letting us in at first, although our reservation was made several months beforehand and we’ve checked to confirm a few days before arrival. When asking about wifi and clean towels the seemed annoyed and took very long, and even didn’t manage to fix the wifi. When we asked to leave they neglected us in total and just left us to figure out the gate and keys ourselves. The neighbourhood was not safe at all as well. Would never go back.

Nice room, but unfortunately a very noisy neighbour across the road who is learning to play the drums - the loud drum playing continued until after midnight and I could not sleep due to the noise.
The wall mounted fan has a plug, but no extension cord to actually reach a power outlet, so could not use it in the warm room. (Had to keep the windows closed due to the noise).
Also the gate remote did not work and I could not get hold of the attendant to open for me. He eventually cam after multiple calls.
I would not stay here again.
