De Wildebeest was the perfect choice of accommodation with a large group of family and friends. Plenty of very comfortable rooms, and excellent shared areas for meals and drinks. Gardens and grounds are very picturesque. Jan and Marlene are amazing hosts, and we had no need to dine elsewhere when they were catering. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else next time we are in Johannesburg.

I have spent 3 full weeks at De Wildebeest, and I have been feeling 'at home' from the very first day. When you are working hard far away from home it is very important to feel at ease, and to be able to find your daily routine. Marlene offered me a delicious healthy breakfast every day (yoghourt, cereals and fresh fruits!), I joined the family for many great and authentic dinners and got even invited to a real braai, and I just felt all the time that they cared for me: from the funny "good morning's" and the animated discussions about politics, gender, South Africa, and salad :)) to the sweet "good night's". In a bustling city full of trafic it was great to find peace and rest in this beautiful guesthouse. Thank you Marlene & Jan, for everything! I will be back :)

We stayed with Jan & Marlene for 8 days while we were in Johannesburg for a conference. Our room was comfortable and warm, the breakfasts and dinners we had there were amazing. We couldn't have asked for better hosts who went out of their way for us, nothing was too hard. From dropping us off to our conference, or a mall, or organising other transport. Absolutely loved our time here and as a first timer to South Africa, it made our stay even more memorable. Will definitely be going back with the family and will stay there again without hesitation. I nearly thought that I arrived on my gran's farm for a one night sleep over in Johannesburg. Spacious, comfortable well equipped accommodation combined with a homely reception and delicious breakfast made for a very relaxing stay.

Thank you Jan and Marlene for your hospitality. Will definitely visit again when I am in Gauteng again

My husband and i spent 1 night here.We flew in from CT on the morning of the wedding and Marleen was so accommodating allowing an early check in and no rush to leave the next day.The room was clean and inviting and the highlight was being welcomed by the 2 cutest bulldogs. The dogs are not intrustive at all of you are not a doggie fan but if you are, then you are in for a treat. The breakfast was perfect and made with love. All the little touches by Marlene allow her warm personality to shine through.

What a fantastic guest house. As with other reviewers we were greeted by Jan and Marlene and sat with them on the stoop for a few beers and wine. The warm friendly reception sets the mood. Clean and comfy, ample parking, good security and a hearty breakfast. Will definitely stay again when we next go to Joburg.

We had a 2-day business conference close-by. The guest house is very close to Lanseria airport which helps in cutting traveling time.

Very friendly staff, and excellent breakfast!

Had no issues in getting a good night's rest.
