The Peech Hotel is highly regarded for providing excellent value and a comfortable stay, though its cuisine is considered somewhat costly by some visitors. My husband and I stayed at the Peech Hotel for 5 nights and loved it. All staff were extremely friendly, helpful and kind, The included breakfasts were exceptional as were the dinners we enjoyed. The room was very comfortable, with a very large bathroom, including a large shower and bathtub. Our room even had a small patio, which I believe was true for all rooms. The room had a well-stocked mini-bar, and bottled drinking water was provided each day. The hotel is across the street from a lovely park and around the corner from several small shops and cafes, all totally safe during the day. On the evenings we did not eat at the Peech, we took Ubers to Melrose Arch, 5-10 minutes away, where there is large selection of restaurants and shops. We would return to the Peech in a heartbeat!

Our stay at the Peech Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg was exceptional. It astounded us from the beginning. Entering the property was friendly, safe and beautiful. Then, we were greeted with apple juice in stemware when we arrived at the front desk. Staff brought our luggage to and from our room at check-in and check-out. They were always concerned for our safety and asked us about our plans outside of the hotel and timings so that they could make recommendations and look for us if we were gone longer than expected. Our room had very high-end bathroom fixtures (soaking tub, sink, toilet and shower) and was comfortable in every way. We were delighted that the tap water was safe too.

We stayed for only one night but were impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the quality and cleanliness of the room, and the excellent food/service in the Garden Restaurant (my wife suffers from Coeliac Disease and is very sensitive to gluten cross contamination - waiting staff were very helpful in identifying what she could eat and the kitchen delivered great gluten free food). The hotel has really nice ambiance, with the rooms in pods spread around the edge of the property with a beautiful garden and pool area in the middle. Before heading to the airport we spent a few hours on loungers by the pool and tbh you wouldn’t have known you were in the middle of a large busy city. The Peech Hotel is doing many things right and deserves all the accolades it’s receiving.

Our stay at the Peech hotel was excellent. The staff were welcoming and always had a smile and pleasant greeting. The room was very modern with lots of glass walls and windows with inside coverings. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of plus and outlets.
The restaurant is small and cozy with a great staff of workers. Our Server John did a good job and made us feel like special guests. Greeting us at the entry and checking in to see if we needed anything. The food was a bit pricey and the menu was fairly small. But everything we had was quite tasty and the portions were above average size. We would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely hotel. An oasis of calm in a busy city. We spent three nights at the Peech at the beginning our South African vacation. All the staff was very welcoming, kind and helpful. Our room was quiet, very comfortable and there was the heavenly scent of jasmine from the vines outside our room. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with gardens and a lovely pool area. The Bistro restaurant was perfect for our first evening's dinner with a nice selection of starters and entrees. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant with delicious offerings to choose from plus a cold buffet of fruit, cereals, yogurt, juices, meats, cheese and breads.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and can't thank the staff enough for such a wonderful time.

My recent stay at The Peech Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg was a harmonious blend of contemporary elegance and eco-friendly luxury. The hotel’s location in the leafy suburb of Melrose offered a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle while being conveniently close to key attractions. My room was a haven of modern design, with stylish furnishings and eco-conscious amenities. The lush garden setting and serene pool area provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration. Dining at the hotel’s bistro, Basalt, was a culinary journey, with a menu that celebrated locally sourced ingredients and international flavors. The Peech Boutique Hotel exceeded all my expectations, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this eco-friendly gem in Johannesburg.

We enjoyed a one night stay at The Peech flying back from Kruger and before our flight to Mauritius. The hotel had been highly recommended to us by a travel agent and we were glad we took her advice and booked this over an airport hotel. We did have a 30 minute journey to reach the hotel but it was a lovely afternoon and nice to see a glimpse of Johannesburg on our way. The hotel is in a lovely quiet suburban area and feels very tranquil. It has two pools, one of which we sat around in the late afternoon sun and enjoyed some drinks. The rooms were very comfortable and had all of the amenities you would expect. We ate dinner in the restaurant that evening and the food was really good, however, the kitchen seems to have a large and very noisy extraction fan, which can be heard even when the doors are closed, but when they open for the team to bring food into the dining area it is very loud and does tend to spoil the atmosphere of your meal.
We had to leave so early the following morning that we didn’t get an opportunity to try breakfast unfortunately.

All of the staff we encountered here were lovely and very polite and helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Peech as a great place to stay.

We too are pleased that you chose to stay at The Peech, it certainly worth the short journey to see some of the impressive city skylines and arrive at our inspiring oasis in the middle of Johannesburg. We have taken note of your additional comments regarding the kitchen extraction and will make every effort to continue improving our offerings and facilities. We do hope to have the privilege of welcoming you back to SA in the future. Gabrielle & Team

If you're one for personal, local and thoughtful place then don't look any further. The Peech (if I am not mistaken) has had a revamp since I was there about five years ago. Great design, thoughtful lighting, comfortable furnishings, well planned out room make The Peech my Joburg go-to favourite now. It is a home from home. The menu and kitchen are also worth mentioning, great food and lovely service and right in the hotel plus the new Basalt restaurant on site is a great new addition (though I never tried it but will go back to do just that!). The location is great, just minutes from Sandton for business or shopping and I also love that just over the road you can stroll to local amenities such as coffee shops, a pharmacy, gift shops, hairdressers etc. Also next door is a serious gym so no excuses on missing out on that training run, swim or leg day.
I loved waking up and hearing the hadedas flying by and feeling like I'm in a little oasis right in the middle of a city.
The hotel arranged a shuttle with Jacob who was waiting and smiling even though I was early and he sped me easily through the sleepy streets to the welcoming light of The Peech.
The Peech is a world class hotel right in the heart of Joburg and it showcases the very best of what South Africa has to offer in terms of design, hospitality and food.

The Peech is a boutique Hotel. I am not sure how it had developed but there are rooms with really nice views of the pool and gardens, however ours Room 26 only had a view of the opposite apartment. I would not recommend any of the rooms in the 20s.
The room itself is quite spacious and modern.
Dining was an issue. The fine dining restaurant was closed as the chef has left, which meant if you wanted to eat in the evening at the Hotel the only choice was the Table d’ hote. This menu is very limited , quantities small and was served on consecutive days. Having tried it on the first night I felt forced to order a pizza from an outside supplier to be delivered to the hotel on my 2 nd evening.
The staff in particular Douglas were pleasant and helpful.
I would need assurances about the room and dining options before staying there again.

This is an absolutely lovely boutique hotel. The rooms are quite large with comfortable beds and loads of amenities. Very clean and well cared-for. The bathroom is also large, with a separate toilet area as well as a large sink area where two people can easily get ready at the same time. The food in the restaurant is good although cooked food can take a while to arrive. Every staff member that we saw or interacted with were friendly and always willing to be helpful. According to locals The Peech is in an area that is safe, but we never left the hotel on foot. There is a gate to control access.

Morning. We can organise an airport transfer for you for ZAR620. We can also organise tours of the city and to the apartheid Museum either before you stay or when you arrive at the hotel. Uber is very good in Johannisberg and although there has been a bit of resistance from local taxi firms is still an excellent service.
