We stayed here one night on arriving in South Africa and we had a very pleasant time.

The rooms are large and well equipped with safe, air con, mosquito burner, kettle and coffee machine. The bed is large and comfortable and the pillows were very good. The bathroom is large with a tub and a separate shower and everything was in good condition and worked well.

Outside there are two pools (one is just a plunge pool) with sun beds and towels and we spent the afternoon there after a light lunch.

There are two restaurants - one for guests only where we ate lunch (that was closed for dinner) and a more upscale room where we dined. Both were excellent, with fresh, well cooked and well presented dishes.

The staff are all friendly and efficient - all in all an excellent place and highly recommended.

The rooms are excellent (and high-tech), the service is impeccable and the hotel's location is outstanding. There is a nearby park that one can walk to (and is totally safe) and easy to get uber (or taxi) to other areas of Johannesburg when needed. (There is also a Planet Fitness next door in case one needs to get some exercise in - which we certainly did!). Breakfast is excellent, as well.

And the staff are super helpful and friendly: they helped us plan any excursions, provided recommendations for restaurants (and attractions) and all around just very attentive to what we needed. The guard at the gate, the restaurant staff and front desk staff were all extremely helpful.

Highly, highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to spend a few days in Johannesburg!

This hotel is so beautiful and the grounds are peaceful and large! There are 2 pools, a long winding pathway to walk through and the design/decor of the sitting area in the lobby is so pretty. We stayed in room 9 which is on the ground floor. The room is spacious with a large bathroom and an outdoor patio area which is covered by tall plants for privacy. The hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious and each meal was presented in an upscale way. The hotel was very close to other restaurants we went to (Melrose arch) and only a 3-5 min drive away.

The staff is incredibly kind, accommodating and helpful. Each person you encountered always had a smile on their face and any request was answered with a “yes”. I would definitely recommend staying here!

I only stayed here one night, but enjoyed the Peech tremendously. It's got lovely, peaceful grounds, nice places to hang out inside or outside, a good restaurant and very attentive and friendly service. The hotel is small enough to feel warm and personal rather than being just a business hotel (it seemed to draw a mix of tourists and business people the day I was there). It's across from a big park which has nice views and seems safe (plenty of people walking dogs or playing with their kids), so offers the opportunity for a nice daytime stroll in Joburg's typically good weather.

The Peech Hotel simply put, blew us away!

When I booked with The Peech they recommended a massage from a nearby salon. I went ahead and organised it myself but they actually followed up with the salon themselves and discovered that the salon had messed up my booking up by organising 1 massage instead of 2. They took the initiative to book a new massage somewhere else. It wasn't necessary in the end as the salon sorted us out but I certainly appreciated the effort concierge went through to help us.

Also, all the staff we met and spoke to knew we were celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary which is a nice touch. We loved the style and décor of the hotel. It's subjective, I know, but the modern feel to everything combined with the luscious green gardens with decades old trees was beautiful. The gardens made everything feel private and muted. We loved how quiet the place was.

It's hard to describe our room but it was new and modern and well decorated. We especially loved the big open shower and bathroom of the luxury room we booked. Thoughtfulness was a constant theme with things like using less paper around the hotel as a C19 precaution to providing solar lights due to frequent black outs in Johannesburg to doing a romantic turndown for us with a special request thrown in.

That night we had dinner at Basalt, the inhouse restaurant and once again the hostess knew of our anniversary. The food and service at Basalt were absolutely amazing! The menu is seasonal and frequently changes so its a 3 course menu with 2 -3 options per course. But the advantage of such a small and focused menu is immaculate food and prompt service. We had a fillet steak that melted in your mouth. You didn't need a knife to cut it. They served equally mouth-watering calamari with a divine squid ink aioli that once again was so soft and tasty. Every course was amazing!

Basalt is a small venue and perfect in it's setting. Small and intimate. 2 excellent waiters to serve all the patrons. When we were ready for a course it took about 5 minutes before our plates arrived. As previously stated the thoughtfulness here is apparent. A smaller venue combined with a smaller menu makes for a fine superb fine dining experience.

One thing to note is that The Peech is not a place for good value for money. Not in the traditional sense. You don't go there for a bargain, you go there for the experience. And I had no issues paying for that experience!

We loved every minute of our stay. 10/10!

The Peech Hotel was perfect in every possible way. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The property and rooms are beautiful, clean, and well kept. The pool is a perfect place to lounge away the day, and while we didn't get the chance to explore the neighborhood, it looks like one of the nicest in the city. We stayed at the Peech between our flights coming from Windhoek and departing to Atlanta the following day, and while it isn't the closest hotel to the airport, it is well worth the shuttle.

The Peech is a boutique Hotel. I am not sure how it had developed but there are rooms with really nice views of the pool and gardens, however ours Room 26 only had a view of the opposite apartment. I would not recommend any of the rooms in the 20s.
The room itself is quite spacious and modern.
Dining was an issue. The fine dining restaurant was closed as the chef has left, which meant if you wanted to eat in the evening at the Hotel the only choice was the Table d’ hote. This menu is very limited , quantities small and was served on consecutive days. Having tried it on the first night I felt forced to order a pizza from an outside supplier to be delivered to the hotel on my 2 nd evening.
The staff in particular Douglas were pleasant and helpful.
I would need assurances about the room and dining options before staying there again.

HI there Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and share some beautiful memories of your stay with us at The Peech Hotel. Thank you for your special mention for Douglas, he truly is our star. I am sorry that you did not have the best dining experience, we are expanding and updating all our dishes on the hotel menus. In addition, we have great news that our fine dining restaurant is set to reopen on 23 March every Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Furthermore when you book again you can certainly make a special request for your room type and number of preference and we will retain that information on your profile. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Peech! Gabrielle, Douglas & Team

I stayed here two times on a recent trip. Both stays were wonderful. I would stay here again and recommend the property to anyone looking for a relaxing stay where you will be spoiled.
The hotel is in a quiet residential area so you will have a peaceful stay. There is a large park across the street so you can get some exercise if you like. The rooms are very comfortable and very spacious with all the amenities - the bathroom even has a heated towel rack. The beds are great and the bathroom is huge. Each room has a small balcony or patio so you can sit outside and enjoy the plants and the birds.
The staff is uniformly terrific - very friendly, very helpful, and genuinely happy to see you. The food is very good although the dinner menu is a bit limited. The chefs do a great job with the preparation and presentation of the food; the portions are very generous. You won't leave hungry. Breakfast is included and there are plenty of options for all.
The hotel, both rooms and common areas, are very clean and the entire staff was masked while we were there. A very conscious effort to comply with all Covid guidance and keep everyone safe.

We made an unforeseen trip to Johannesburg and booked a room from one day to the next at the Peech hotel. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, it was so nice that we ended up staying 5.

The rooms are spacious and extra clean.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and available at all times.

The owner of the hotel himself, Mr. James Peech leaves you a not in the room with his phone number to whatsapp him may you need anything.
We indeed required his help, and he was super friendly and helpful.
He really made our stay in South Africa much better.

They did great restaurant bookings for us.

The place is both small and quiet (the swimming pools are very beautiful) that it makes it intimate, at the same time it is big enough to still feel free and being able to mind your own stuff.

The garden is lush and the view from the room is beautiful.

I really loved it - and I am a picky person. We will definitely come back if coming back to Johannesburg!

Thank you!

The Peech Hotel is set in maginfuicant gardens away from the hustle and bustle of J'Burg. Our room was large, modern and clean and the bed extremely comfortable. the bathrooom incuded a large walkin shower and wifi in the rooom was good. Staff were helpful and polote and arranged a half day tout to Soweto and also a half day tour to Constitution Hill. Breakfast was delicious and well presented and dinner choices, whilst limited were equally delicious. It was a great place to start and end our safari holiday.

Morning. We can organise an airport transfer for you for ZAR620. We can also organise tours of the city and to the apartheid Museum either before you stay or when you arrive at the hotel. Uber is very good in Johannisberg and although there has been a bit of resistance from local taxi firms is still an excellent service.
