Really Beautiful and peaceful Guesthouse At the heart of a vibrant Melville. Nicely furnished and well equipped room.Very friendly staff and The manager was very helpful, offered us All the information we needed about the area and he Also offered us an extra Heater. It Was a lovely Stay overall And I would definitelyrecommend it
This was a really great stay for me, a quiet place to work from, and the place just looks nice, I enjoyed the breakfast there and a night out the nearby clubs, truly value for money, I highly recommend it.
The place was clean and met our expectations and is very close to vibrant restuarants (walking distance). Definitely a place I wouldn't mind revisiting. Friendly and helpful staff all round made our stay more pleasant.
2 cellphones from a locked safe in our room were stolen on the second day of our stay. No traces of burglary, apparently this theft seems to be an inside job. The safe was opened with a key during the time we went out for dinner. We reported the theft to the manager who had no explanation nor took responsibility for the theft of our valuables. We have reported the matter to the police, a case has been opened. The police took our report seriously. Correct and courteous. The investigation is ongoing. But we have lost our cellphones, which is a traumatic experience when travelling. Security in this guesthouse cannot be trusted, nor the people who work there. Check in at your own risk!
We booked two rooms for an overnight trip to Johannesburg. We arrived to a friendly greeting however, the lady who met us made it clear that as soon as she was done with us she was gong off - 'see you tomorrow, she said'. The rooms looked good but closer inspection revealed that they were not as comfy as the first look or the website pics promised - no hangers in the cupboard; no rack for suitcases; an empty fridge that froze any item put into it, with not even a bottle of water (yet the website promises an in- room honesty bar); the shower door was ill-fitting, and the mattress caved towards the middle. But the biggest surprise was waking up in the morning and finding no-one around. And no breakfast! Attempts to phone the number pasted to the wall of the dining room were met with 'this is the wrong number and I have asked them to change it many times before'. A WhatsApp to the number that was so eager to take our booking a few days ago went unread until much much later in the day. Finally in desperation, we heaved our cases into our car, locked the door behind us and tossed the keys over the wall. We drove off to the Service Station for breakfast (highly recommended!). Later we were told 'sorry we forgot to tell you since COVID we no longer offer breakfast'. Really? The website indicates breakfast - in fact it boasts that 'we are very passionate about our breakfast' and the invoice boldly stated Bed and Breakfast. When this was pointed out we were refunded a miserly R75 per person for breakfast. About the empty house and the keys over the wall, nothing was said.…
