Here's what I like about this BnB. Want to be picked up at the airport? They'll send Shoren, their private driver. Go on a private tour? They'll arrange it. Clothes need to be washed? Just put them in the hamper. Hot tea outside? Hot tea inside? After dinner drinks in the bar? Or perhaps you want to eat in their library? Work out in their gym. Play tennis or go for a swim? View the professionally manicured gardens? It's all on their property and their property has only 3 beautiful rooms. I forgot to mention the artwork. It's like sleeping in a gallery.

You are very welcome and we would welcome you back whenever your next trip takes you to Johannesburg. We are extremely proud of our art collection which represent many wonderful local (and now international; Marlene Dumas) artists collected over years. The rose gardens are now in full bloom and so the hotel even smells great in the summer. Kevin Collins

If you are looking a very unique getaway without having to conform to a standard hotel environment then this beautiful 3-suite mansion will blow you away. Luxury suites evoking more a feel of your own private apartment with large lounge areas, dressing room and bathroom, private dining and meals prepared for you by the chef , along with an amazing quirky interior. My favorite was the black and yellow suite. The mansion also has beautiful manicured gardens, a tennis court and a salt pool. But the best part was having breakfast in the morning and having the chef cooking away for you. Everything about 33 Melville felt like home and was thoroughly relaxing, even being able to walk down to the kitchen for breakfast in my white robe and slippers was refreshing! This place felt like a little exclusive retreat which makes it the perfect getaway. Thank you to Isaac, the chef and the team for an excellent attentive service.

Thank you Leila we so appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel on TripAdvisor. We really do aim to make the experience feel like a home and we are delighted you felt comfortable and cared for. Do please come and visit us again - we have summer now and the days are gloriously hot and the clear blue sky is keeping our roses blooming, but with a cosy fire even the cooler days of winter are a joy here at 33.

From my travel blog: Our driver from 33 Melville was waiting outside arrivals with a sign with our names. We walked to the parking garage and then got into a late model BMW 7-Series! I was quite surprised. We then listened to classical music on the 40 minute drive to the guest house. Heather had found 33 Melville on the web. The place is quite amazing for the price, they could easily charge double or triple. We had a host, butler, and chef on call at all time. I felt slightly like we had met the wrong driver at the airport and there was another Eric and Heather going to a lesser place. But we were in the right place. Our room was bigger than a floor in our house. Everything was decorated with great taste - it was perfect for ideas. Anyways it was by far the best all-round service we've had, probably ever. We had a mixed platter for lunch outside on the covered patio. Light jazz played over the speakers. Had a coffee, then debated dipping in the salt water pool but it looked like storm clouds so we didn't. I caught up on my blog and Heather read her book. Every so often the host popped by to see if we were okay. We had ordered the special for dinner, chicken with harissa. We were seated at a long table, and then they brought out our dinner. The chef matched it with a local Sauvignon Blanc. The whole thing was still surreal to me.
