Detailed Reviews
My first time stopping at this hotel, and it will not be my last. I like a hotel, where you are made to feel welcome. From meeting the front door concierge, to checking in, to being shown our room. You where treated like a valued guest. Nothing was too much trouble, every request was completed with a warm smile.
The Hotel is very convenient for Rosebank Mall and all the restaurants there.
Roseban is a very safe area of Johannesburg, private security patrol the streets, so you feel safe walking about after dark.
The Hotel does offer its own private car service, which guests can pay for transfers between The Airport and the hotel. Contact the Hotel travel desk to discuss your requirements.
The Hotels restaurant is amazing. The restaurant is called "Level 4" and offers high quality food and service of a 5 star rating.
All the staff in the hotel where very smartly attired. No one looked scruffy, every one seemed happy with their jobs and this made me feel happy and valued as a customer.
Any Gripes ?
Only 1, The Hotel wanted to charge ZAR 3,000 to my credit card for a mini bar in my room that i neither requested or wanted. It was not mentioned by my travel agency at time of booking, and irritated me only finding out when i checked in.
The mini bar episode is the only thing I can fault them on.
I have now found my new favorite place to stay in Rosebank.
I will definitely return.......

This was my favorite hotel of the many we stayed at in South Africa. It's in a stately looking building and is decorated in a similar understated but tasteful manner. The staff are all quite friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and a hot towel upon check in. The parking garage makes it very easy to access the hotel from your car and come and go from the hotel. In the late day / early evening a sweet treat and drink are brought to your room ( chocolate / wafer -cookie and fruit -infused tea; if you're not in, it is just left for you in the room). The location of the hotel also has its perks. Though it is a completely separate building and you would never know from the outside, it is attached through an interior corridor to a nice shopping mall. This is handy if you need any toiletries, happened to have left any important items at home or want to get a local cell phone card. The mall also has an outdoor section with some good cafes and a fantastic African Crafts Market which should be on your "to do" list. It can be entered from the outdoor section of the mall , but most of it continues underground. It is quite comprehensive and an excellent place to buy gifts. Also, if you happen to be visiting on a Sunday, the Rosebank Sunday market is near the hotel and another thing worth visiting.

This hotel is conveniently located to visit the Rosebank Sunday and the Rosebank Art and Craft markets, along with the shopping mall in the same building.
We had a beautiful, well appointed room. Breakfast was lovely, although there were times when despite lots of staff around, service was slow.
Welcoming and friendly staff, particularly Donate our waiter at dinner both evenings and whenever we went to the bar or sat out by the pool. He recommended good wine and made good suggestions on what to choose from the menu.
We booked a tour recommended by the tour rep at the hotel (apologies, I can remember her name). Our actual tour guide on the day was a gentleman called Linda, who was very experienced and gave us a memorable tour, thank you Linda.
We would not hesitate to stay at 54 on Bath in the future.

My partner and I stayed here on our first trip to Johannesburg. We stay for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is perfect in that it has a wide range of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The hotel itself is wonderful and its staff were 5 star. Nothing was too much trouble and all requests met with a smile. The restaurant on level 4 serves food that is of Michelin standard and service. You must spend an evening there and the champagne bar is simply stunning. If we are ever lucky enough to come to Johannesburg again then 54 on Bath will be our hotel of choice.

We had the good fortune to stay at 54 on Bath after a week of Safari, and were so glad we made this choice. The hotel is special, and we felt pampered after our stay in the bush. We had five rooms, one of which was a one bedroom suite, and all were luxurious, spotless, and comfortable. The bath towels were so thick I immediately looked them up online to try and buy some. I can't say enough about the staff, especially Willard, who was kind and accommodating. We ate breakfast both mornings in the restaurant, and all the food was wonderful, and the service impeccable. The food and beverage manager even stopped by to make sure we were happy. The hotel is in a great location, connected to the mall, so very convenient. I loved this hotel, and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights as we had one day at the start of our Africa trip. We chose Rosebank as it's a relatively safe location, loads of walkable restaurants, and the HOHO bus is closeby and it's connected to the mall. It's also very close to the Gautrain, although we ended up using Uber instead.
The service was very good. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection (buffet or to order) and the room was quite comfortable and the bath fairly spacious. Would definitely stay there again.

+1
We had a great stay here family of 8 4 double rooms we were all accommodated on the same floor. The beds were very comfortable, rooms and bathrooms were a good size. Both bath and shower available.
You can walk directly from the hotel into the mall which is nice and has a range of shops, bars and restaurants.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had Christmas dinner at the hotel and some pre-drinks in the small but beautiful champagne bar. The food was delicious.
We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Highly recommend 54 on Bath. Room was very well appointed and clean. The staff were very friendly. The real star of the hotel though is the restaurant, the food is really quite good. There is a continental breakfast and you can order from the menu for an additional cost. We also had dinner there and cannot recommend it enough.

So glad we chose to stay at this hotel. It is located in one of the nicest areas in Johannesburg, so we didn’t feel unsafe in any way.
The reception area is very impressive, and we were greeted with a glass an apple juice and a warm towel on arrival.
Although we chose the smallest room, it was perfectly comfortable with plenty of room for our luggage. The bathroom was very well equipped with plenty of thick towels and toiletries, and dressing gowns and slippers wee also provided. The only thing missing was an iron and ironing board, though an ironing service is available.
The bar and restaurant on the fourth floor were both very good, and the staff were all so friendly. I can’t remember the names of everyone who served us, but I want to especially thank Rose and Enoch who were very helpful when I was feeling unwell.
There is a small swimming pool and sunbathing area on the same level as the restaurant, though we didn’t use either as we were only there for three days.
I would definitely recommend booking this hotel if you are planning a trip to Johannesburg.

We stayed at 54 on Bath twice during our visit to South Africa: one night in bound and one night out bound two weeks later. Both stays were outstanding. The hotel is a beautiful property with spacious and well appointed rooms. The elegance begins at check in, where weary travelers are offered a beverage and a hot towel to refresh themselves. The hotel has a convenient generator that kicks in when "load shedding" takes place. The restaurant is elegant and of high quality. The desk staff and bellmen are professional, courteous, and very friendly. The charming manager spent some time talking with us and is very helpful. The desk arranged our transfers to and from the airport. The driver from the service they sent on our initial arrival was so engaging we hired him to take us around Johannesburg. We enjoyed his company so much we asked for him on our return, and he again took us to the significant sites in the city, and when he learned that we had not seen a lion on our photo safari elsewhere, he took us to a lion sanctuary on the way to the airport. We highly recommend this hotel.
