I could tell Carolle was a host with a difference from the first minute I made my booking. She was immediately in WhatsApp communication with me ,where she was helping me arrange drivers and giving me the neccesary travel advice. The double room we stayed in was gleaming from floor to ceiling. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen has every gadget you may need. Not to mention the delicious rusks and chocolate chip cookies!!The actual B&B grounds are gorgeous and you feel like you are holiday from the minute you arrive. I highly recommend the Cahteau de Carolle, and cant thank our host enough for going the extra mile.😊

Response from Carol Anne M, Owner at Chateau de Carolle
Responded 29 Dec 2018
Thank you for your favourable review of the customer care I do take with all of my guests before & during their stay at Chateau de Carolle guesthouse, in Johannesburg. I do believe that the entire experience for my guests should be about care & attention from the start of their reservation to the end of their stay - & not just for the duration of their stay. All our privately accessed accommodation is an extension of my private home & therefore deserves the fullest attention of perfection too. Guests safety is another concern while in Johannesburg & as you deservedly experienced, the professional drivers we employ are always reliable & attentive, beyond client expectation! Your support of Chateau de Carolle is most appreciated & I look forward to making your next stay another experience "to write home about" . . .

We realised shortly after leaving Chateau de Carolle that we had misplaced an important pocket-sized diary and assumed we had left it at the Chareau. We phoned Carol and she undertook to conduct a search of the accommodation. Carol was initially unable to find it, but she reported that on the fourth search she located it hidden under the felt lining of the safe! Carol has subsequently posted it to us in Melbourne. We are so appreciative of Carol's efforts; this is entirely consistent with her attention to detail with the Chateau. Liz and Maurie Trewhella

We spent two nights at Chateau de Carolle (31 Aug – 2 Sept), prior to flying home to Melbourne, following a month-long holiday in South Africa. We spent a considerable time online, examining a large number of Bed & Breakfast establishments in Johannesburg, before choosing Chateau de Carolle and we were not disappointed. On our arrival, Carol, the owner, upgraded us to a spacious two-roomed apartment, with a well equipped kitchen/sitting room and a very large bedroom with en suite bathroom. Carol does not do cooked breakfasts, however she provided us with a generous and interesting range of tasty food for a continental breakfast. Carol was so personable and responsive that it was difficult to overcome the feeling that we had known her for years. Her willingness to ensure that our stay was pleasant and problem free seemed almost boundless. Chateau de Carolle is located in a very leafy and attractive suburb of Johannesburg, in close proximity to restaurants and about ten minutes drive from the Rosebank Sunday Market, a market with an enormous array of African arts and crafts. As we left Chateau de Carolle, Carol was good enough to guide us to the market so that we could purchase gifts for our family and friends. Carol’s friendliness and generosity has left us with a very positive memory of our stay in Johannesburg. We hope to return to Johannesburg in the future and there is little doubt about where we will stay.Liz & Maurie Trewhella

I stayed for 2 weeks at Carol's place, in one of the two room apartments. I picked this accommodation because it offered a fully equipped kitchen andhotel service, which is hard to find in Joburg (airbnb was not an option for me,because my administration excludes this choice for business trips). The mostimportant thing when I travel is quietness, and sleeping quality was excellent(great bed, no noise). The neighborhood felt very safe, with a small shoppingarea very close by. In addition, wall insulation of the house is better thanaverage, and the apartment easy to heat up (that is often a problem in winterfor most airbnbs in Joburg). As can be seen from photos on Carol's website, therooms are very well decorated and clean, one feels rapidly at home. Finally, theservice was excellent (thanks to Merylin and Josh for being always helpful).

We stopped off in Johannesburg for one night and we stayed at Chateau de Carolle. The property is stunning with fabulous attention to detail including magazines to read and snacks to eat. We left very early in the morning and we were able to eat breakfast which had been placed in the fridge. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends and hopefully we will be back for a longer stay.
