This was our first stop in South Africa. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They shared good tips on what to do in johannesburg and on the rest of our trip in South Africa. The rooms and swimming pool were very nice too.
I arrived early morning after a very long flight. Service was great, stuff was helpful and friendly. The area around the backpackers has some really nice vibe to it. I will definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely amazing experience! The staff are unbelievably accommodating and friendly. It is a beautiful, vibey little spot and super affordable too. Will definitely be back and keep this place as my number one go-to accommodation for when travelling!
I went to Homebase Melville in July for 2 days. The place is cozy, near to supermarket. The people here are very friendly. All my stars goes to Scelo, the nicest guy I’ve met in my staying here! Thanks for that experience.
I stayed at many hostels in johanessburg but the homebase is the best , nice crew and place ,I met peter one of homebase team , he knows everything in SA , he for sure will help you touring , and if you'll go to mozambique , there is no beter than peter to ask him for…
"Definitely get an ensuite for a little extra cost!"
"Travel from OR Tambo to hostel -> gautrain to city center (station 'Park'), take cab from there. Gautrain: 150 ZAR, cab: 100 ZAR, both safe"
"Shared room 8 beds Female"
"There can be problems with them with fi availability "
"My room was cheap because i booked a week from online and from my country Ghana before i arrived. Every guest have a key to enter their room, a locker, and electronic security code to go in and out when you want. They also have books which you can enjoy on the roof top. I can only stay in Melville when in Johannesburg.... saves money, make you know people, breakfast is free, if you know how to socialize then everything you are looking for is in Melville *wink*. my name is Percy and am from Ghana, West Africa."
