I booked Cliffside for my husband and I as a surprise graduation celebration and I must say it was the best decision I made! The willingness to make it special from Paul and Cazz was so heartwarming. I felt excited and could tell it would be a great place from the time my booking was confirmed. The professionalism and them being kind to all my questions and requests during the week leading to our stay, wow! Then we arrived, What a special warm welcome, The whole team was at the entrance with welcome drinks it was as if they knew us from long ago because they all called us by our names :-) Then the interior décor so elegant and inviting. I booked the Cliffside room which was nice and private with beautiful mountain views. The lovely snacks and stocked up fridge in the room kept us going too :-) The food dinner and breakfast wow! We got to play some board games next to the fire place aswell, there's just so much to say. Everything at Cliffside is top class and I cant fault a single thing. I travel for work so I've been to many places but never have I experienced such remarkable comfort and service. We look forward to coming back for a two day stay to enjoy your place more because one evening felt too short! We were blown away by the quality of service, the attention to detail and the sheer luxury of the accommodation. Our dinner was superb - actually quite on another level altogether - and our every need attended to. It felt as though we were in the bush - the hotel opens up to the trails leading to the top of Northcliff Hill so we enjoyed an enjoyable hike and spectacular views before our extremely delicious breakfast. We were spoilt from the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly) had to leave. What a gem of a venue.

The property is beautiful, but the welcome from Cazz, Connie, Phindi, Mbali and Elias, the outstanding attention to detail and care, and superior quality is unsurpassed. We have rarely found such a place that just gets everything right! The deck, poolside, walks and surroundings are beautiful. Rooms are individual, airy and bright, with high quality amenities. We opted for one evening of fine dining, and again first class. We will certainly be back very soon, it truly felt like being at ‘home’…only better! Thank you The Cliffside team for making our trip extra special!

What a special place ! From the moment you arrive you feel welcome. The staff are really exceptional and provide the highest level of personal service imaginable. The walking trails behind the property gives one a feeling of being in the bush , forgetting that you are actually in the city The property has some special South African art throughout , and even the furniture are proudly South African , made by Houtlander. The highlight of our stay was the walking trails , celestial telescope on our balcony , as well as the highly recommended fine dining dinner. This place really deserve to be classified as one of the must see and must visit properties in Gauteng. Thank you Cazz and Mbali for making our stay unforgettable. We will definitely see you soon again !

Booked the Cliffside for an overnight stay mid December. It was a surprise for my girlfriends birthday. This Cliffside team went above and beyond to ensure that the experience was second to none. The rooms are immaculate and modern, and the view over Johannesburg from the balcony is unsuspecting. We could have been in the middle of the bush somewhere - doesn't feel like you are in Joburg. We opted to have dinner at The Cliffside. A 3 course dining extravaganza... the portion sizes were spot on, and the flavours were perfect - Thanks Team! The attention to detail is insane... you can tell that the space is lived and cared for by a passionate team.
