Rooms: 9/10 The beds feel like you’re sleeping on clouds, the room is spotlessly clean and sound-proofed which is important as it’s in quite a busy are. The 1 point is lost due to the size . Would recommend you stay here for a short business visit or if you’re out and about in the city. Also, due to location, the view from the rooms I stayed in were of adjacent buildings.
Food: 10/10 The breakfast menu had a fantastic variety. Lunch and dinners at their restaurant never left me disappointed.
Service: 10/10 While Booking.com reviews said something about slow service, never experienced it even once. Wonderful, and efficient service.
Location: 10/10 Access to the mall, and several restaurants around you. Security is also on alert and very helpful.

Picked this hotel due mostly to location, stayed only one night. We used the Gautrain to get to the hotel from the airport, it was an easy and safe walk with luggage to the hotel along a pedestrian only street. Check in staff were very friendly and offered us a much needed cool welcome drink. Room was wonderful, AC was working and we each had a generous bottle of water, if there was any load shedding that night we did not notice it. We decided to dine in the hotels Proud Mary restaurant after noticing it seemed to be the busiest restaurant on the street, we were not disappointed, we had an excellent dinner and breakfast the next morning. Door staff stored our luggage the next day as we toured around a bit, and when we returned to pick it up they offered us a lift to the Gautrain station in a golf cart, which was really appreciated. This hotel and restaurant exceeded our expectations, wished we had time to spend another night.

Excellent one night stay at Voco Rosebank. This is probably the best located hotel in the Rosebank area being right next to two malls (Rosebank Mall and The Zone, in a quiet pedestrianized street with several cafes and bars nearby.
Beautiful, stylish lobby, with friendly and welcoming reception. Adjoining this is the large and equally stylish Proud Mary restaurant and bar area. Its so nice to find a hotel with a really great bar within the property.
The guest rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings and many thoughtful touches. Large walk-in rain showers, separate toilets, high quality toiletries in large bottles, Nespresso machines, and hand held garment steamers. Requests like extra water and an adaptor plus were delivered very quickly with a warm smile.
Breakfast was excellent. Instead of a large buffet, there was an enticing range of a la carte dishes, plus a small spread of fruit skewers, granola bowls, pastries, muffins and freshly squeezed juices to enjoy while your breakfast dishes are prepared. Excellent service and great coffee too.
The lifts seemed a little slow to me, so you may have to wait a few minutes. Plus there is a strange kind of security gate before the lifts, even though you still have to use your room key card to access guest floors.
All in all though, I loved my short stay at Voco. It will definitely be my first choice when staying in Rosebank. Highly recommended.

Our otherwise fine stay at Voco Rosebank was marred by inept reception staff on both arrival and departure. On arrival they had no idea; asked if our room was prepaid? It wasn't until we gave the person the voucher - which she copied into their system - that we were checked in.
Then on departure the next morning we kept wondering why our Jarat driver wasn't showing up. We had arranged with him to make it 830 am.
By 850 we called downstairs twice and initially they denied that there was anybody from Jarat there. The second time the person said, 'oh I think he's here'
It turns out that the driver had been at the hotel since about 8 am. And that he had notified reception. They did not notify us and told Richard "they couldn't find them/us in the system".
I don't know what would have happened if we had just done nothing and waited. Fortunately it was a public holiday so traffic to the airport was light.
Clearly our driver should have contacted his office to report the situation but it was all caused by the utter incompetence of the Voco reception staff. Truly clueless.
When I asked one of them about it this morning she flat out lied and said that the driver gave them a name that wasn't in their system. Our Jarat tours driver did in fact provide them with our correct names and last name so the failure is on them.
Otherwise we liked the location of the property, the heavy level of security, the proximity to so many restaurants and shops, the market etc. The room was pretty nice too although the bathroom had practically no shelf space. The shower was good, the mattress was great as were the cushions. Air-conditioning worked well and it was quiet. And breakfast at Proud Mary was excellent with tons of options. And nice coffee.
Even so I don't know if we can even consider using the property for our guests, based on our arrival AND departure experience.

We stayed at Voco Johannesburg for one night during our layover in Johannesburg. The hotel is brand new and decorated with a modern design. It is located in a nice neighbourhood with a safe feeling, right next to a shopping mall. The rooms are super comfortable and very clean at every corner. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We even felt sad that we were staying at this hotel for only 1 night and we didn't have long enough time to enjoy the hotel fully. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we will definitely choose again if we were coming back to Johannesburg.

Welcome: We arrived on an Uber which took about 30 minutes from the airport. The staff welcomed with a warm smile. We were told that our room is not ready yet but they contacted the housekeeping to get the room ready in 15 minutes while offering us a barista prepared coffee of our choice.
IHG Program Recognition: My IHG status was recognised and mentioned. However, during the busy check-in to get the room ready asap, they initially forgot to offer the welcome amenity. After settling in the room and going out, the reception staff ran behind us to tell they forgot to offer welcome amenity and provided a choice of welcome drink or bonus IHG points. We requested points but this is not credited in my account either.
Location: The hotel is 30 minutes from the Johannesburg airport. We were not going to any particular area in Johannesburg since we were on a layover, but we booked a Soweto tour and nicely got picked up from our hotel by the tour. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. It felt safe to walk around in the area.
Meals: We had a rushed breakfast as we had to be at the airport at 8 a.m. The breakfast starts at 6:30 and we ordered a french toast and a granola bowl. Both of them were extremely delicious. We wished we had time and we could enjoy the breakfast longer.
Rooms: The rooms extremely clean and comfortable and very nicely decorated. It provides all necessities. The bed was super comfortable and we truly enjoyed our experience. As in most IHG hotels, the Antipodes hand wash and shower amenities smelled great.

This hotel offers good service and does a great job of serving their guest. The rooms are a good size with large bathrooms and a separate toliet room. A fully stocked refrigerator is offered with daily water and CBD packets to help you sleep. Highly suggest higher floors on the weekends to avoid being awakened and hearing the noise from people on the street in front of the hotel waiting to purchase the latest sneakers to purchase and resale. I could hear them most of the night and louder as the sun began to rise. I would say there were a minimum of 40 people waiting outside for the store to open. A room above the 9th floor should be fine. Other than that, our stay of 4 nights was good.

So many great things about this hotel. I really enjoyed it in almost every way.
Check in was swift and friendly. Valet parking was friendly and easy to use.
The room was excellent. Large and well laid out with high ceiling and huge windows. Enough storage space and comfy bed. A minor problem with the shower drain was fixed immediately. The Proud Mary restaurant has a great vibe, generally good service, and very tasty food. Dinner there is great.
Only two issues prevent me from giving a 5 star rating: 1. The breakfast is a cooked breakfast, from a menu, and it's just too slow. It's impossible to get out of the hotel before about 7:50 because whether you arrive for breakfast at 6:30 or 7:00, the meal will arrive at 7:30. Sometimes later. The quality never disappointed. For guests who work not in Rosebank and must drive, it makes the getaway too late. 2. The gym is incomplete. Very limited selection of machines. The Elliptical is very weird and almost impossible to use due to poor ergonomics, and it lacks a recumbant bike. Same for the strength section... lots missing that could actually fit in the current layout.
I would gladly stay here again over a weekend when the breakfast duration is not an issue.

I had a wonderful stay at the Voco Johannesburg Rosebank for almost two weeks. I highly recommend it, even as a solo woman traveler. I felt very safe. The hotel is chic, lovely, and has an incredible three floor gym with weights going up to 30 Kg (who can pick that up???). The restaurant is delicious with a trendy bar, and a lovely indoor/outdoor setting. My room was super quiet and spacious, with a great bed. The shower had incredible pressure, and there was a handheld sprayer as well as an overhead shower—very thoughtful for women who may not want to get their hair wet every night. The hotel is in an excellent location about a half block from a large mall, movie theater and lots of restaurants. Most importantly, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful—they really want you to feel like you’re at home. The hotel has been open less than a year, and I can see that it is already a big success!

The Hyde Rosebank is an attractively presented hotel in a good area of Johannesburg with shops and restaurants within walking distance. However, they are currently refurbishing a number of rooms and their IT system has major problems. Our issues started at check in. Having given us the room key for a 2 night stay, we were then told that we couldn't unpack anything as we would be moving rooms the next morning! This stay was part of a much longer trip and we needed to unpack and get sorted for the next phase. We asked to be moved to a room where we could unpack but were told that they had no spare rooms. Amazingly after our local agent had spoken to them, we were moved to a better room where we could unpack! Getting agreement to move took 3 hours! Not a great start... The next morning our room key didn't work in the lift but as we then discovered, most keys weren't working following a recent software reset. Chaos! Having managed to get down to breakfast we then got stuck in the lift for 40 minutes, going back to our room. Once again, the software reset was to blame apparently. The staff were apologetic but we were late for our planned tour and were very upset by the event. Having been out all day, we were keen to go to our room and freshen up but oh no! The software reset wouldn't allow that and we had to wait for 15+ minutes. At least we were offered tea .. Suffice to say that our room didn't work for the remainder of our trip which made leaving the room very difficult. In the end, the staff were apologetic and offered us money towards our dinner and brought some goodies for our anniversary. We did talk to another, regular guest who said that the hotel was normally much better run but at the moment, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!
