Leighwood lodge There is not a star rating available to express how wonderful Leighwood Lodge is. For those of you that don’t read to the end of this review, this is a true home away from home, beautiful rooms, incredible food, the friendliest staff you will ever meet and of course the beautiful oak tree and garden. At a time when we urgently needed a place to rest, Leigh opened her doors at an hours notice. She quickly became known as mamma Leigh. Thank you Leigh...you took us under your wing and fed us, cared for us, laughed with us and even cried with us. Nothing was too much effort for you. We could not have asked for a more perfect place filled with an abundance of love from you and all your staff. We can not find words to express how much this meant to us. Thank you so much. We highly recommend Leighwood Lodge.…
We were totally seduced by this Guest house. Leigh is a charming and available hostess for the stay and the many questions relating to our trip. She took care of our airport transfer and the booking of a guide to visit the city. His restaurant tips were excellent. the room was spacious and very well equipped, the bedding very comfortable. The breakfasts are generous and delicious and what about aperitifs by the pool. A very good place for Johannesburg.
We had a wonderful few days at Leighwood Lodge and Leigh and Carl could not have been more helpful. The accommodation and grounds are beautiful and very comfortable and much thought has been given to every detail. Leigh helped rearrange a Safari trip for us as we were unable to go on our specified date and also organised some meals for us. We want to thank them and all the staff very much for their kindness in making our final days in South Africa so hospitable. Don and Aylwin
We arrived in Johannesburg from a very early flight. Leigh made it easy for us and was over the top helpful in every way! She helped us arrange transport to dinner that night as well with help meeting up with the safari people early the next morning, more assistance than we had hoped for. The place was beautiful, breakfast was delicious.
We are a group of Greeks (11 persons) who traveled to South Africa for enjoy, in a dream of a lifetime. This Villa and especially Leigh hostess was really one of the reasons we had a great time. The house is cozy with large independent rooms with balconies and large spacious bathrooms. All very beautifully decorated with personal taste. The outdoor spaces, all covered, have contact with the nice garden and give you the feeling that you are in the countryside. The location is very good within walking distance of the malls of Santon city but at the same time in a quiet neighborhood. In addition to the hospitable figure that makes you feel like home, Leigh is an amazing cook and tour guide. I suggest you to try her food and walk around the parks with her and her adorable dog, Bruno. The staff smiling always, preparing breakfast covers the demands of everyone with humor. Staying at Leigh’s house would describe it as a complete travel experience. I recommend it without second thoughts. Leigh we love you!! I looking forward to seeing you again.…
