The hotel is wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff who is well trained. The only things to remark are that in a hotel like this, one would expect room slippers and a bathrobe. But at least room slippers which do not cost much. Also, the fact that the temperature in the room is not really adjustable. We tried to make it colder, but it hardly makes any difference. The central aircon is clearly leading. The thermostat seems to be for show only.
I wasn’t sure what was missing during my first visit. I have since realized the hotel is just a protea hotel dressed up in a beautiful international brand. Staff are okay but not 5 star. There is a lot to do.
I have stayed in many hotels and I cannot honestly say that I received some of the best service I have ever seen at this hotel The hotel is also fantastic We were upgraded to a junior suite and it was one of the most beautiful rooms I have stayed in Well done Marriott Exceptional service and an exceptional space I will definitely be back!
Not even a year old. Good breakfast choice. No meeting rooms with daylight. Branded room design with open spaces and no cupboards. Front office staff needs more training. Placed in a well commercial area.
I have stayed in many Marriotts and I can certainly say this has been the best one. Brand new hotel with excellent design. I want my room at home to look like one I got at this hotel! Marriott should tell us where do they buy the furniture so we can also get it! The area of Melrose is a very safe area (this is a very important point in Johannesburg) and you can walk around the streets. There’s many bars and restaurants. This hotel made me feel good and I would recommend it 100% to anyone traveling to JBurg. As constructive feedback I would like to recommend the following: - Rooms: make sure TVs have Netflix available apart from YouTube and leave more bottles of water. AC was not working properly - Gym: there were no towels and there are no machines to do leg exercises - Pool: I went every day in the morning (at around 8:30) and there was no one from the hotel. No towels available at that time. Also would be great to have a sauna and Turkish bath. …
