We ordered the largest room available. There was space to swim. The amenities included coffee, tea, etc. The water was potable, however they provided us bottled water, as well. The breakfast was ample and consisted of many different foods. We used the shuttle service to go from the hotel to various site seeing events. It worked very well.

My Fiancé and I are getting married at Hallmark house and decided to spend Valentines evening at Hallmark house, from the second we got there until we left it was absolutely amazing. The attention to detail, effort and super friendly staff made our experience unforgettable. A very trendy and modern hotel. The location is in JHB CBD which is challenging however adds to the experience and once you are at the Hotel you are not bothered by the city at all... would recommend this hotel and experience to everyone

Retrofit Building, all new, nice rooms and service. Excellent cost vs benefits!
The rooms all new, big beds, clean bath, modern decoration.

Center location, at night its not recomend to walk alone, very dark, but if you go to visit by car or taxi it's an excellent option.

Nice place, interesting location. Also expericienced payment issued. A day after we left a charge from the hotel was added to the credit card without explanation. With no website and no reachable phone number its hard to resolve. Still no resolution.

An initial shock, but the hotel won us around: Upon collection at the airport the driver said “do you know the area where you are staying”?
The driver kindly drove us around the now defunct Central Business District (everything has now moved to upmarket Sandton). This was as bad a place as I have ever been and highly dangerous for tourists. We accepted we’d made a big mistake booking here. After four nights and becoming accustomed to Uber taxis we felt comfortable at the hotel which was definitely safe. The staff were amazing and so helpful. Rooms clean and presentable and VFM. The basement Jazz cafe was simply awesome but only opens from Thursday to Sunday: likewise the rooftop bar which we didn’t visit because there was a private function on. I would stay there again, but this time knowing what to expect and how to deal with the surroundings. No walking in the street - Uber everywhere.

My favourite hotel in the world. Great design - by David Adjaye and DJ/producer Black Coffee. Good friendly staff, rooftop bar, jazz club in the basement and ground floor restaurant. The barbershop is fab too and the massages are excellent. The hotel rooms occupy 2 of the 15 floors - most of the other floors are rented apartments to young Jozi creatives so you get an ever changing crowd in the bar, restaurant, foyer etc - makes it interesting. Good value too. It’s in a cool location but you’ll need to take cabs in the local area to be 100% safe. We did walk back one day from near Hillbrow as we couldn’t get a cab, and we were fine. Definitely don’t do that at night though.

I was very happy with my stay here. The underground jazz club is a great and convenient place to spend an evening and the rooftop bar offers fantastic views on the city and there are good vibes. What however impressed me was the staff. From the desk staff to the waiters to the security staff, everyone took great care of me and made sure I had a good time as a solo traveler. Rarely have I experienced such level of customer service at a hotel and felt like I was part of a big family. Can't wait to see you all again!

We have no basis of comparison but we only stayed INSIDE the hotel and did not venture outside. The hotel itself is very nice and chic and it became very apparent that we were not the standard clientele lol. But the service and friendliness of the staff were great.

Restaurant was a ghost town. Dinner was decent, a bit salty but it was a good meal. Breakfast was excellent and after 3 weeks of the same breakfast they managed to make the same food tasty! HOWEVER if you prepaid for breakfast it is a set menu to choose from instead of a certain dollar amount. I really wanted French Toast and it was cheaper but not an option.

Room and bathroom was massive. Like massive. Felt like a studio apartment minus the kitchen lol. I did have issues with the shower, too hot or too cold so it was hard to control the temperature.

Apparently this is a happening hotel and we were tired so we didn't fit in but we still enjoyed our stay. Lastly the elevators and access to rooms and other public places were a bit weird but we managed. However the hallways in the hotel corridors are very poorly lit and dark.

I was a guest for 6 nights and most times being in a hotel can really feel tiring, but the staff made me feel comfortable and leaving the hotel proved to be hard 😆😆😆 I had the most amazing time loved the rooftop restaurant, and the vibe there. Looking forward to my next business trip I'm definitely coming back!! Thank you Hallmark Staff from Reception to House Keeping, also acknowledging the Waitress and waiters 🔥🔥🔥. Thank you for an awesome job.

I was in Jozi for a night and this hotel was conveniently close to where I had to be. Great staff and service. I love the art showcases and interior of the place. The only thing I wish they had in the rooms are block out currents, I’m a light sleeper when there’s too much light coming in but other than that, everything was excellent.
