I enjoyed staying at Gooseberry Guest House. The place is beautiful, tasteful and neat. I enjoyed the ambience and the overall feel of it. My stay would have been even better, but for two things: I normally ask for a room with an own bathroom with a shower. I might have neglected to do so in my initial enquiry, so I am not sure. Be that as it may, my room had no shower, which was disappointing and inconvenient. Since I have no way of knowing for sure whether this was my fault or theirs, I have no choice but to leave the matter be. The other problem that I had was that I was in a room directly below a whole bunch of young ladies who were either having a party or a bridal shower or something similar. They were most inconsiderate and made a lot of noise, late into the night and from early on in the morning.- talking loudly, banging doors and generally causing a racket. This left me a bit disgruntled, although I suppose that Gooseberry cannot be held responsible for that. Other than these issues, my stay was fine.…

Verry peaceful and safe erea to sleep. Friendly and helpful lady who can speak Afrikaans also. Great breakfast. However we from the Northern provinces are not drinking tap water so maybe a littre or 2 drinking water would be nice in the room, but all and all we Wil visit again

Very nice and quiet place, the rooms are clean and being cleaned every morning. The wifi works 100%. Breakfasts are good quality, staff are friendly. It would be nice if there was a shuttle service included. Overall, very pleasant stay.

I truly enjoyed my stay in this guest house in Linden! The property is a lovely garden and cottage style house, and my room was quite comfortable. The staff are one of the greatest assets, as they are extremely friendly and looking after you. Breakfast was tasty. There seems to be a guest kitchen if you want to cook for yourself, but the neighborhood is quiet and safe and I had no trouble walking a bit over a block to restaurants. The art is lovely, with a clear Christian theme. I had some issues with wifi but with such a short stay, didn't ask for help clearing it up, and the lack of a/c was not an issue. The one negative is that I found my walls a bit thin. Fortunately the place was a bit empty so it wasn't too big of a problem. All in all, for the price paid, it was an excellent bargain and I'm very happy I chose it!…

That Magenta Room No. 10! Was in love with it, sadly it's no more there as they did some paint job 😢 . In fact when we came last week some construction job is still going on, no wonder lapa area is a bit untidy and dusty. Anyway, the rooms are still looking pretty (tho all the colourful ones are completely gone), clean and neat. The house is very beautiful and big, nicely decorated with colourful sofas and wooden furnitures - where those beautiful paintings made by the owner herself, Susan Berry. She's a very talented artist I must say 😊. In short, Staying there is like attending gallery at the same time. What a nice feelings, indeed... 💞

We enjoyed the stunning facilities this quaint guest house has to offer. The bridal party stayed here the night before the wedding. The guest house was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. The service excellent. Thank you!

Staying for a week at 5th Avenue Gooseberry Guest House was an absolute treat. They take care in all the finer details, making your stay feel so personal. The staff are friendly and attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make your visit more than comfortable. The guest house is a feast for the eyes with quirky & eclectic décor and a lovely peaceful garden, which is just what as needed after long days at work! Their breakfasts are out-of-this world and prepared with such love and care. I happened to be visiting over St Valentine's day and was treated to rose petals and chocolates. A superb little touch, which made me feel special... I would highly recommend a stay with Susan and her team.
