The Residency Jellicoe staff was very nice. They clean the property and rooms well. The problem is the noise. You were not suppose to be having parties and but a resident who lives there full time had a party every weekend. You can sleep well Monday -Thursday but Friday -Sunday you got no sleep at night because of the noise. I called security but it did not help much because they will turn the music down and then turn it back up.
This was the worst stay I've ever had anywhere on this planet. Upon arrival I was given a room that firstly looks different than on the pictures, but that was not a big problem. When me and my girlfriend entered the room, we noticed that there was something wrong with the door as it did not lock. As we did not want to sleep in an unlocked room, we tried calling reception but nobody ever answered the phone and the WhatsApp messages we sent are still not read after 5 days. We had to walk 4 floors down to get the receptionist to come and check the door and he said it's not a problem and he will send someone in the morning. We urged him to move us to another room but he didn't want to do that for us. When I wanted to go for a smoke just before I went to bed, I noticed that we were locked inside our room. The door didn't move and as I wrote before, nobody from this hotel is reachable for their guests. We sent WhatsApp messages, we called every phone number available, but nobody answered the phone. My girlfriend had a flight to her home country at 6AM and at 4AM we still could not reach anyone, we tried screaming from the window but all I could hear was 'SHUT UP'. This means my girlfriend missed her flight and we only managed to get in touch with the hotel at 12 in the afternoon, after we had to call out for our neighbours because we were so sick of the situation. It took them 1 hour to get us out of our room and our entire stay was 100% ruined, my girlfriend couldn't be with her family and we were stressed all night. Being locked up in such a place is a serious fire hazard but nobody seems to care about that at The Residency. After all of this happened, I was still extremely friendly towards the people at the hotel. We haven't been rude for a second. All I expected was a simple sorry and probably a refund for the night as we were locked up and made huge costs for the missed flight.…
We had the unfortunate situation where a family walked in on us. My issue is how the hotel staff handled the situation. Very unsavory. It tainted my view of the place. Please work on your customer service
I have stayed across many residency accommodation but residency Jslliocoe has to have been my less enjoyed experience. First things first the noise levels need to be regulated, we failed to sleep due to noise pursues and during the early hours of the morning. Secondly, your staff came banging on our door asking us when we checking our, after correcting our booking as we were scheduled to sleep there another night, we had other staff come & bang on the door snd calling our room to ask the same thing! We found food in the microwave from previous guests, the sink had no soap to rinse or wash plates. Our tv was not working & after requesting reception to assist nothing was done until we left! All in all I did NOT enjog my stay & would not recommend this particular branch. Thank you
The only downside were the beds. The mattresses are so worn they actually have concave forms to them. Even after requesting a new one, which the promptly provided, it still was well worn Newer firmer ones are needed urgently
