We are a family of 6 that traveled from Cape Town to Maheking in December and needed a place to stay over in Johannesburg and continue our travels the following day. We booked at 2B Happy Backpackers. (first time at a backpackers) It's not an upmarket establishment, and if you're looking for 5 star accommodation, this is not for you. This establishment has moved to the top of my list of places to stay in Johannesburg and I recommend it to everyone I know that needs accommodation in Johannesburg. It is well equipped with everything you need, it has a down to earth, homey feel. The rooms are neat and clean and ANYTHING you need, all you have to do is ask Patience & her team. They are FRIENDLY Beyond words, accommodating and caring. Patience & her team MAKES 2B Happy the HAPPY place it is! Well Done!…

Been there for 2 nights, and it was a pleasant experience. The staff was welcoming, the Karoo room was excellent (including a bath tub), good breakfast, billiards and TV in the lobby/kitchen, availability of a few shops from walking distance, excellent security of the area. Negative thing was its location which is a bit far from anything worth a visit. Nearest shopping area is about 20mins walk to reach there. Taking the mini-bus, which cost Rand 11/trip is affordable but can be difficult for somebody new to Joburg. This place is great if you plan to stay outside most of the time and only come for rest at night (backpackers, right?). Its worth mentioning that after the online booking, I was charged an additional 5% for credit card charges which was not mentioned anywhere before, so expect that surprise!…

I felt nice at this hotel. People there were friendly and I cannot complain about anything. I was treated there very nicely and I had quite nice room for R250/night. Stuff there helped me with anything I needed and the owner invited me to spend a movie evening at her place with other friends of her. Very sweet lady!

I stayed at the 2b happy guest house for 3 days in May 2014 and had a great experience. The staff were helpful, the room was well equipped and very clean. Free pick-up service from the train terminal was a bonus. I will stay there again.

Was really happy with the room, it was clean and tidy, and bigger than I expected. Really appreciated how welcoming and friendly the staff were too. Couldn't have asked for more during my stay in Joburg.
