Can you give a place more than an 'excellent'? We stayed 4 nights, at Zoo Lake B&B, as the first part of a South African bicycle/safari trip. After a long journey, we were greeted by the most gracious and welcoming host - with a wonderful light lunch. The room was lovely and the grounds are beautiful. Zoo Lake is in a great location - a short and safe walk to a section with small cafes and shops. Breakfast's were wonderful - prepared and presented, with flair, by our gracious host. Sylvia was more than helpful. Her dinner recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed every meal. Our experience at Zoo Lake B&B is part of the great memories of our trip.

What a treat! My first stay at Zoo Lake B&B, and certainly it won't be my last. An elegant, tranquil enclave with a generous, lovely host. The rooms, service and dining are outstanding, and one of the best to be found in any B&B. I look forward to returning one day.

Unfortunately we only came to stay for one night at this awesome B&B but I will be sure to book it again on our next trip to Joburg. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast divine, and nothing is too much trouble for the lovely host, Sylvia. It is very conveniently situated and easy to get to on public transport, we used the Gautrain and Uber for our stay. Thanks for having us Sylvia, we will be back!

I could not recommend a better place to stay in this busy city, the rooms are beautiful, the garden is tranquil and peaceful. The beautiful cat that welcomed us was so lovely I wanted to steal him! Our gracious host was warm and inviting and really made us feel like we had arrived home after a long absence, the gin and tonics in our room were most welcome and the breakfast we had the next morning was utter perfection, I will never stay anywhere else when I travel to JHB!!

I can only recommend the Zoo Lake B&B in Parkview. You feel at home as soon as you arrive. The old elegant house and the rooms are very tastefully furnished, the garden is a wonderful place to unwind and the blue pool asks for a swim during summer. The host Sylvi looks after her guests so well, the breakfast is delicious and one feels sad to leave again. This is a liitle piece of heaven in the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg, tranquil and neat as a pin.

Having stayed At the Zoo before, this was a similar experience, the owner/operator Ms Sylvia was a perfect host, welcoming, friendly and organised. Although it was just a night's stay it left a lasting impression. The room was tidy, neatly arranged and extremely well maintained. All amenities were functional and conveniently placed for ease of access and use. A cold night in Johannesburg for this tropical visitor but the room felt warm and cozy throughout the night. The morning started with a scrumptious breakfast hand cooked by Ms Sylvia, freshly baked croissants, a plate of sliced fruits, bread and fresh off the cooker scrambled eggs washed done with an Earl Grey in a cup that had this words inscribed on it - Forget-me-not!. Well that I am sure not to do because this first impression indeed was a lasting one.

My friend and I stayed here at the start of our camping safari trip to Botswana and it was so awesome. There are two rooms which have their own exterior entrances are spacious and beautifully decorated, each had its own bathroom and mini fridge. The garden and pool are gorgeous, with several patio areas for relaxing. In the morning the dinning area, which is another perfect setting with huge windows and views of the yard, had a table that was set up like a five star restaurant. Our breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, juice, coffee, yogurt, croissants, eggs made to order, bread etc. The owner Sylvia is a gem, so kind and helpful, she made our short stay wonderful. My only regret is that we weren't there longer to enjoy the beautiful place and use the pool. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Johannesburg.

Zoo Lake B&B and the amazing Sylvia were one of the highlights of our trip. I felt like I was at a 5 star luxury hotel with the best service you could imagine. The booking process was easy and the emails I received before our stay were thoughtful, kind and made me think we picked the right place. Sylvia give us recommendations and advice about restaurants and getting around like she was a professional tour guide. The home and the room are perfect. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have everything you could possibly want - including Nepresso coffee pods for you coffee lovers. The linens and towels are the highest quality and one of the rooms has a lovely little patio area. The breakfast room is huge and filled with light. The breakfast was huge and offered something for everyone. Sylvia will make you eggs any way you want them on top of cheese, meats, breads, cereals, yogurt, etc.... We ate at nearby Moyo and Sylvia graciously offered to drive us over there herself - which was greatly appreciated as we did not have a car. We said we would take Uber back but she said if anything went wrong and we needed a lift to give her a call. It was like we were family! The combination of a 5 star quality accommodation with a 5 star hostess make this a place I will come back to over and over again!

My second visit to Dee road was even better than the first. Such a warm welcome from Sylvia for whom nothing is too much trouble. Excellent generous breakfast, bed is comfortable and linen top quality. Stay here when you're in Jhb if you can.
